Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka stepped out in coordinated outfits with their 15-year-old twins, Harper and Gideon, for the premiere of The Lost Boys on Broadway on April 26.
The family infused their red carpet sartorial agendas with a matching black-and-red twist. Neil donned a burgundy blazer that was layered over a black graphic T-shirt and styled with simple black pants. Meanwhile, David wore a black shirt with a bold red tie for a pop of color.
The couples’ kids looked so grown up as they posed alongside their famous parents. Harper opted for a red minidress that was layered with a black fishnet top and black fur jacket. The ensemble was styled with lace stockings, a silver-studded leather belt, and knee-high black boots. Her blonde locks were left down in soft waves and she carried a matching red handbag. Gideon rocked a black-and-red checkered shirt with a sleek black blazer and matching tailored pants.
The musical is an adaptation of the 1980s classic vampire film. Neil is a co-producer and investor for the Broadway show. “When Lucy and her teenage sons Michael and Sam move to Santa Carla in desperate need of a fresh start, they soon uncover the darker side of this sunny coastal community. While Lucy tries to piece her family’s life back together, Michael keeps pulling away in search of belonging. As he finds connection with a local rock band and its charismatic leader, his younger brother Sam comes face-to-face with a startling reality: When night falls, Michael’s new friends are even more dangerous than they first appeared,” reads the synopsis.
“Based on the classic Warner Bros. film, The Lost Boys is ‘an eye-popping tour de force’ directed by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending, Parade). The production features music and lyrics by The Rescues, a book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch, choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant (Parade), and music supervision by Tony nominee Ethan Popp (Tina). The Lost Boys is produced by James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson.”
In August 2010, Neil confirmed that he and David were officially expecting twins, via a surrogate, and the two, Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, arrived in October of that year. The following June, after the legalization of gay marriage in New York City, the two got engaged, and later tied the knot in Italy on September 6, 2014.
