At long last, we have a Black Clover season 2 release schedule, meaning we’ll finally be able to continue the adventures of Asta and Yuna. More than five years after the first season ended, Black Clover is back.
It seems a little insincere to call the first 170 episodes of Black Clover a single season, but that’s how the series classifies them. After a long break, presumably to avoid catching up to the manga, the anime is back for more episodes in the autumn 2026 anime season.
Black Clover season 2 release schedule: When is the next episode out?
The next (and first) episode of Black Clover season 2 lands on 3 October on Crunchyroll.
Subsequent episodes will follow weekly following the first installment’s release.

Where can I watch Black Clover?
The entire first season of Black Clover (all 170 episodes!) is available to stream on Crunchyroll for most of the world. Crunchyroll will also stream new episodes of Black Clover season 2 as they air in Japan. However, if you want to watch the movie, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, you’ll need a Netflix subscription. Netflix also has Black Clover season 1 episodes available to stream.
Is it Black Clover season 2 or season 5?
There is some confusion between the season numbering for Black Clover due to how the first 170 episodes aired. The first season aired continuously from October 2017 to March 2021 before going on an extended hiatus. This meant that the series aired for over three years before it ended. Many sites break up this block of episodes into “seasons” because the series was marketed in English as being part of four blocks for its physical release.
Is the Black Clover manga over?
The Black Clover manga ended on 1 May 2026, after running since February 2015. Originally, the series was published in Weekly Shonen Jump, but in December 2023, it switched to one of Shueisha’s monthly manga magazines, Jump Giga, to give series creator Yuki Tabata more time to complete each chapter.
