Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd and his wife Hanni Treweek have announced the arrival of their first child, a daughter named Constance Ita Shepherd, born on 26 June.
The couple shared the joyous news with fans via an Instagram post, featuring an intimate photograph of the newborn’s tiny hand clasped around theirs.
The image offered a glimpse of the baby’s head and ear, accompanying a heartfelt caption: “Our beautiful baby girl has arrived, born peacefully at home, surrounded by love.”
Shepherd, renowned for his long-standing role as David Platt in the ITV soap since 2000, received a flurry of congratulatory messages from his co-stars.
Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, wrote: “Congratulations- gorgeous news,” while Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) added: “Oh darling! So thrilled for you both and what a beautiful name xxx.”
Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown on Coronation Street, commented: “Wonderful news! Congratulations guys, born at home aswell.”
Sally Dynevor, who portrays Sally Metcalfe, also shared her delight, writing: “Oh wonderful so happy for you, what a beautiful name. Lots of love to you all xxxx”
The couple got married at Manchester Cathedral in July 2025.
Following their wedding, Treweek took to Instagram to share her happiness, posting: “Introducing Mr & Mrs Shepherd. Words cannot describe how beautiful yesterday was for us – it was more than perfect. The love & energy in the room (and outside) was incredible – our hearts are truly full. Thank you so much to you all – it means the world to us. Love is all you need x”

Shepherd first met Treweek on the set of Coronation Street, where she was working in the press office before she later became a storyline writer.
The couple started dating in 2017 after they “got chatting” at a mutual friend’s wedding.
“We had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it,” Shepherd told OK! in 2020.
Shepherd proposed to Treweek while they were on safari in Tanzania, Africa. Announcing the news on social media at the time, she wrote: “05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!”
