Presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have addressed calls for a civilian version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Here! – saying ITV should “definitely” give it a go.
Fans of the show have long been calling for a version featuring members of the public and on their podcast, Hanging Out With Ant and Dec, the duo have backed the idea.
The presenters were answering questions sent in by listeners when the topic came up. Ant said: “We get asked this a lot and we would love to do it.”
“I think it would be great,” Dec replied, before his presenting partner continued: “On I’m A Celebrity, you don’t always know the celebrities and part of the joy is getting to know them, night after night after night, and then end up liking or loathing them at the end.
“So with I’m A Civilian… Get Me Out Of Here! you won’t know anything about anyone and you’ll just get to know them all like you do in Big Brother, and you’ll have your favourites by the end of it.”
“I think we should definitely do a version of it one year,” Ant concluded.
Their comments come as casting is underway for the next series of I’m A Celebrity, which is expected to air in November.
A number of famous faces have been linked to the show, including the likes of Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, former Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova and ex-England cricket captain Ben Stokes.
Now in its 26th year, I’m A Celebrity remains one of ITV’s most popular programmes. The 2025 series saw stars including Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, EastEnders actor Shona McGarty and Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson enter the jungle. Social media star AngryGinge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, was crowned winner.

ITV has experimented with spin-offs in the past and earlier this year, the broadcaster aired its second All Stars version. Filmed in South Africa, the series was prerecorded before a chaotic live studio final – where tensions flared as Jimmy Bullard confronted eventual winner Adam Thomas, while Ant and Dec struggled to keep a lid on the drama.
Earlier this week, bosses also announced another spin-off, The Wild Frontier. The revamped format, set to air in 2027, will see famous faces in the Canadian wilderness. As with Celebrity Race Across The World, they’ll compete as pairs alongside relatives, loved ones or fellow celebrities.
