Actively involved in the negotiations, she has repeatedly criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government for its lack of concrete action and failure to carry out real democratic reforms. After several days of fighting and mounting tensions, the Syrian government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) agreed on Friday, January 30, to a deal that would integrate the military forces and administration of the Kurdish autonomous region of Rojava into the state.
