The Unglamorous Truth About the Average Tradwife

The Unglamorous Truth About the Average Tradwife

Can you remember the first time you heard about “tradwives”? I can’t, and yet I have the vague feeling that at some point a handful of years ago, all at once, the term became inescapable. On phone screens across the United States, beautiful women with glossy hair seemed to materialize en masse, flipping sizzling patties of meat and rocking impossibly calm babies. Conservative commentators embraced them as evidence that women want to stay home. Critics called them agents of a regressive right-wing agenda. Now, in 2026, Americans seem just as captivated. This spring, Caro Claire Burke released her debut novel, Yesteryear, which follows a modern-day tradwife influencer who wakes up in 1855 and has to face what “traditional” life really looks like. It became a near-immediate best seller; Amazon MGM Studios snatched up the film rights, with Anne Hathaway set to star and produce. In April, Hulu began airing the series The Testaments, a sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale that depicts teen girls trained to be docile homemakers. Instead of math or English, they’re taught …

People Who Go To Concerts Live Almost A Decade Longer Than Average

If you haven’t been to a concert, you definitely should. Concerts give you a rush of energy and excitement you can only get from that experience. They also tend to bring people together and create a sense of unity and happiness. But there’s more. According to a 2018 study, the more you go to concerts, the longer you’ll live. No, seriously, the research by O2, a company that owns some of the biggest music venues in the U.K., found that if you regularly attend concerts, you will have a longer lifespan. When you think about it, it doesn’t sound so far-fetched. Think about festivals like Coachella. They’ve been going on for years, and they have people who attend consistently and prepare for the festival months in advance, exercising and eating right so they look great in their festival outfits. These concerts usually take place in the spring or summer when it’s super hot, so people are sweating while dancing and running around, burning calories, and releasing endorphins. According to a study, people who go to concerts …

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon attracted 1.5 million viewers on Friday, while 1.6 million people watched Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC despite the episode being a rerun. Byron Allen hosts ‘Comics …

US Mortgage Debt Hits $13.2 Trillion, Average Household Owes Nearly $109,000

Authored by Mary Prenon via The Epoch Times, America’s mortgage debt continues to escalate, hitting the $13.2 trillion mark, according to an April 30 WalletHub report. The personal finance website and app indicated that the average U.S. household owes nearly $109,000 in outstanding mortgage balances and that mortgage debt has remained on an upward trend over the past few years. “Mortgage rates are the highest they’ve been in around a decade, and home prices have seen a meteoric rise in recent years as well,” WalletHub analyst John Kiernan said in the report. “Even small increases in home prices can lead to thousands of dollars in extra mortgage interest costs for homeowners, so it’s important to choose wisely when deciding where and when to buy a house.” Comparing the 50 states based on proprietary data from the third quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter, WalletHub found that the northernmost state, Alaska, added the most mortgage debt during that time frame, in percentage terms. The average balance there rose by 2.52 percent to $248,013. Meanwhile, Alaska …

Average 2Y Auction Is A Big Improvement From Last Month’s Debale

In today’s first of two coupon auctions (due to the week’s truncated schedule as the Fed is on Wednesday), the US Treasury sold $69BN in 2 year paper in a mediocre auction, yet one which was notably stronger than last month’s issuance. The sale stopped at a high yield of 3.812%, down from last month’s 3.936% and tailing the When Issued 3.811% by 0.1bps. This however was a big improvement from last month’s 1.8bps tail, which was the biggest since March 2023.  The bid to cover was 2.653, a notable improvent from last month’s 2.440, above the recent average of 2.61%. That said, the BTC has come in a very narrow range of 2.4 to 2.8 for the past decade with little variation.  The internals were marginally weaker, with Indirects taking down 56.48%, down from 59.38% and below the recent average. And with Directs almost doubling from 16.50% to 31.65%, Dealers were left holding 11.87%, down from a surprisingly high 24.12% in March. Overall, this was an average auction yet the fact that it was …
