‘Sinners,’ ‘Adolescence’ Among MPSE Golden Reel Awards Winners

Motion Picture Sound Editors on Sunday announced the winners for the 73rd annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards, which honor outstanding achievement in sound editing, sound design, music editing and Foley artistry in film, TV and gaming. In the TV categories, Adolescence, Alien: Earth and Love, Death + Robots scored wins, while in the film categories, Sirat, Sinners and Frankenstein were honored. Zootopia 2 received an animation win, while Deaf President Now! won in the documentary category. This year’s awards show took place at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Patton Oswalt for the fourth time. As previously announced, Kathleen Kennedy received the Filmmaker Award, and supervising sound editor Mark Mangini was honored with the Career Achievement Award. A full list of winners follows. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) awarded the winners of the fourth annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards during a ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York on Monday night. The top winners of the night included Joe Locke, who received the award for best lead performer for his role as Charlie Spring in Heartstopper; John Lithgow, who won for his voice performance as Minister Bolinar in Spellbound; Ana Gasteyer, who won her first Emmy Award for her voice performance in the recurring role of Crabitha in RoboGobom, Tabitha Brown who received the Emmy for best children’s personality for Tab Time, which also won for writing for a preschool or children’s series; and Andrew Garfield who also won his first Emmy for his appearance on Sesame Street. The Visual Effects Society (VES) has announced the winners for the 2026 VES Awards, recognizing excellence in the craft across 25 categories, including film, television, special venue projects, technological innovation, student projects and more. Avatar: Fire and Ash led the winners with seven including the top prize of outstanding visual effects in a photoreal feature. KPop Demon Hunters led the animation category wins with three trophies, including the top prize of outstanding animation in an animated feature. Sinners won the award for outstanding supporting visual effects in a photoreal feature, while Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age won the award for outstanding visual effects in a photoreal episode. The NAACP Image Awards has continued to announce winners in various non-televised categories ahead of the 2026 NAACP Image Awards ceremony taking place live on Saturday. On Wednesday, the third and final night of a virtual event hosted by actress and writer Angel “ThatChickAngel” Laketa Moore and actor and rapper Khleo Thomas was streamed on the NAACP Image Awards’ YouTube channel, and Sinners, which leads this year’s NAACP Image Awards nominations with 18 nods, racked up three wins. The second round of winners for the 2026 NAACP Image Awards was announced Tuesday in the non-televised music and podcast award categories. Cardi B won three awards during the presentation: outstanding artist, outstanding album for her latest release, Am I the Drama?, and outstanding hip-hop/rap song for the single “ErrTime.” Entertainer of the Year nominee Kendrick Lamar won two awards for outstanding male artist and outstanding music video/visual album, along with SZA, for luther.
