A Welsh dad-of-two suffered unexplained migraines for 20 years until doctors discovered the sinister cause of his suffering. Stuart Hill, 62, a highways inspector, had been “fit and healthy” apart from migraines and flashing lights which he experienced intermittently. On 15 April 2025, Stuart was with family when he suddenly became unable to speak or lift his arms. He was rushed by ambulance to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, where a CT scan identified a mass on the brain. Three weeks afterwards, on 9 May, Stuart underwent seven hours of surgery, during which surgeons successfully removed the entire tumour. After returning home to Swansea, Wales, Stuart has continued speech therapy and now receives routine scans every three months, transitioning to six-monthly checks. Lizzie Pitt, 46, experienced sudden nausea in February 2025 and her son Felix, then 10, discovered her on the floor “acting weird”. She put it down to the strain of moving home and “juggling” work and family commitments, but when she lost control of her legs during the night she was taken urgently to Airedale Hospital in Yorkshire. Scans revealed a brain tumour, which she was initially informed was not cancerous, and she underwent surgery to remove the majority of the growth. The full-time art teacher and special educational needs and disabilities coordinator (SENDCo) was subsequently informed she had grade 4 glioblastoma – and was given six months to live without treatment. She has since received chemotherapy and radiotherapy and electrical hyperthermia immunotherapy treatment to extend her life. The world’s tallest man, standing at a towering 8ft 2in (243cm), requires three beds to sleep comfortably. Sultan Kosen claimed the Guinness World Record for being the tallest living man in 2009, even outstripping other contenders for the title. The 43 year old ex-farmer took over from 7ft 8.95in Xi Shun, becoming the first individual exceeding eight feet to be measured in more than two decades. Sultan, who hails from Ankara, Turkey, was always aware of his exceptional height, already surpassing 5ft by the age of nine. However, his extraordinary height has led to both physical and mental challenges. He confessed that he was ostracised by his peers during his youth, according to Mundo Deportivo. Speaking on the I Had a Doubt podcast, Sultan revealed: “Because I was so tall, my friends were afraid of me and ran away.” He began to experience issues with his eyesight, with his field of vision narrowing until he could only see directly ahead.
