Bruce Dern turned 90 on June 4, and the star has been in the entertainment industry for over six decades. He is also a doting father to actress Laura Dern, whom he welcomed into the world with ex-wife Diane Ladd in 1967. The actor’s new documentary titled Densie: The Amazing Life of Bruce Dern, premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival last month, and it showcased the star’s successful career and fulfilling life. Since the Die Hard actor’s family confirmed his FTD diagnosis in 2023, the MakeTime Wellness founder has become a steadfast advocate for those fighting FTD and their caregivers as she is for her husband. Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band wrapped their 20-date Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour on Saturday night in Philadelphia at the Xfinity Center with a tour de force performance encapsulating one of Springsteen’s most fiery tours to date.  What set out to be a run of twenty shows from Minneapolis to Washington, D.C. was altered slightly when the Philadelphia 76ers’ playoff schedule forced a reschedule for the Philly date (originally set for May 8th) – making the City of Brotherly Love the last date of the run, rather than Washington. In almost perfectly poetic irony, the tour that’s ostensibly about the foundation and principles of the country wrapped in the city the nation was founded in. Philadelphia marked the eleventh consecutive show of performing the same setlist, a notable rarity for an act who’s synonymous with dynamic live performances night after night, though an understandable choice given how pointed the message for these shows is.  In the opening monologue of the night — nearly verbatim for most nights on the tour — …

After dealing with Donald Trump for the better part of the last decade, it was not until Wednesday night that I finally understood the difference between my childhood and today. I credit Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band for making that distinction clear. Springsteen rode into Washington, D.C., to play in the driving rain for 40,000 fans at Nationals Park with the energy of a 19-year-old — and the insight of a 76-year-old who lived through the same divisiveness I experienced as a child. His performance, according to Nils Lofgren, one of the guitarists in the 19-piece E Street Band, was a “brutally honest and melodic statement of Truth.” To say that things have dramatically changed in the United States since I was a child in the 1960s is an understatement. For the last two months, Bruce Springsteen has been staging a nightly protest rally in arenas across America. “The Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour” is part revival meeting, part homecoming and also simply a fine evening of music. But it is absolutely a protest rally, whether people know it going in or not. “Now they say they’re here to uphold the law, but they trample on our rights. If your skin is black or brown, my friend, you can be questioned or deported on sight. Sage Elsesser, the rapper, producer, skater, and model, has lived a lot of life for someone under 30. Faced with a future either as a Handmaid or sentenced to death, Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) and Aunt Vidala (Mabel Li) thought of an alternative way of ensuring that Becka, one of their very own students, wouldn’t be punished. It wasn’t an outcome that Becka wanted and saw her mother (Kate Hewlett) confess to the murder herself, later being hung for the crime. At the same time as Mrs Grove’s death, we saw Becka prepare for her rushed wedding to Garth (Brad Alexander) which was somewhat engineered by Agnes (Chase Infiniti) herself.
