Nicolas Cage’s ‘Spider-Noir’ Canceled by Prime Video After One Season

Prime Video/MGM+’s Spider-Noir starring Nicolas Cage has been canceled after one season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The show, which features Cage in his first-ever regular TV role, debuted on the streamer in May with eight episodes. But despite positive reviews and receiving 11 Emmy nominations, it won’t return for a second season. Here is the official logline: “Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.” Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, Brendan Gleeson rounded out the cast. Guest stars included Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster. Nicolas Cage’s bizarre 9-foot pyramid tomb he’s pre-reserved at New Orleans cemetery

Nicolas Cage has long embraced the unexpected, but perhaps nothing reflects his famously eccentric personality quite like the striking pyramid tomb he has already reserved for himself in one of New Orleans’ most historic cemeteries. Standing nine feet tall among centuries-old above-ground mausoleums in St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, the gleaming white pyramid has become one of the city’s most unusual tourist attractions, attracting visitors curious about the Hollywood star’s unconventional choice of final resting place. Purchased by the National Treasure actor in 2010 as one of two cemetery plots, the futuristic monument couldn’t look more different from the weathered crypts surrounding it. © Alamy Stock PhotoNine-foot-tall pyramid tomb of actor Nicolas Cage in St. Louis Cemetery no.1 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. A monument unlike any other While St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 is renowned for its ornate historic tombs dating back to the late 18th century, Cage’s minimalist pyramid stands in stark contrast. The pristine white structure is inscribed with the Latin phrase “Omnia Ab Uno,” meaning “Everything From One,” a cryptic message …

Men in Cages – The Atlantic

Men in Cages – The Atlantic

Since the early 1990s, I have visited scores of prisons and jails throughout the United States, as well as the Guantánamo Bay detention camp. The immigrant-detention facility known as Alligator Alcatraz, deep in the Florida Everglades, stands out as a uniquely cruel publicity stunt with an absurdly high price tag, in which much of the money goes into just a few pockets. For almost a year, the facility has been operated under an unusual arrangement: funded by the state of Florida and run by private corporations to detain immigrants on behalf of the federal government. Ultimately, the way Florida and the Trump administration went about creating Alligator Alcatraz placed them in an untenable position, legally and financially. According to recent reports, the facility may soon be shut down. Its history, however, must not be erased. The Florida Soft Sided Facility South, as Alligator Alcatraz is officially designated, was built by the state of Florida during the summer of 2025 for use by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It is located at a remote airstrip in …

Nicolas Cage’s ‘Spider-Noir’: How to Watch the Premiere on Prime Video

With new seasons of The Boys, Invincible and now Spider-Noir, Prime Video isn’t at all void of superhero shows in 2026. The show also stars Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, a journalist and Ben’s best friend; Li Jun Li as nightclub singer Cat Hardy; Karen Rodriguez as Ben’s secretary, Janet; and Jack Huston, Brendan Gleeson and Abraham Popoola. John Cage’s Silent, Avant-Garde Piece 4’33” Gets Covered by a Death Metal Band

John Cage’s Silent, Avant-Garde Piece 4’33” Gets Covered by a Death Metal Band

When we think of silence, we think of meditative stretches of calm: hikes through deserted forest paths, an early morning sunset before the world awakes, a staycation at home with a good book. But we know other silences: awkward silences, ominous silences, and—in the case of John Cage’s infamous conceptual piece 4’33”—a mystifying silence that asks us to listen, not to nothing, but to everything. Instead of focusing our aural attention, Cage’s formalized exercise in listening disperses it, to the nervous coughs and squeaking shoes of a restless audience, the ceaseless ebb and flow of traffic and breathing, the ambient white noise of heating and AC… and the suspended black noise of death metal…. We’re used to seeing 4’33” “performed” as a classical exercise, with a dignified pianist seated at the bench, ostentatiously turning the pages of Cage’s “score.” But there’s no reason at all the exercise—or hoax, some insist—can’t work in any genre, including metal. NPR’s All Songs TV brings us the video above, in which “64 years after its debut performance by pianist David …
