Prime Video/MGM+’s Spider-Noir starring Nicolas Cage has been canceled after one season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The show, which features Cage in his first-ever regular TV role, debuted on the streamer in May with eight episodes. But despite positive reviews and receiving 11 Emmy nominations, it won’t return for a second season.

Here is the official logline: “Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.”

Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, Brendan Gleeson rounded out the cast. Guest stars included Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster.
