Study Proves The Shopping Cart Theory Can Actually Reveal Someone’s Character

The “shopping cart theory” has been circulating on the internet for a few years now, according to a frequently shared Reddit post, but it’s not just a joke. A 2008 study in the journal Science suggests there’s actually truth to it. We’ve all gone to the grocery store before and seen the shopping carts all scattered about, blocking parking spaces and making some poor employee have to wrangle them all in the summer heat. In recent years, this dilemma has turned into something of a philosophical debate online, with many believing people’s shopping cart behavior reveals some core truths about their character. A Certified Sleep Coach Shares the Sleep Week Deals She’s Adding to Cart (2026)

As part of its Sleep Week promo, and because the brand knows how much I love this mattress, Nolah has a special deal just for you: Take 30 percent off sitewide, plus an additional $50 off when you use code WIRED50 through March 16. Saatva recently played a big role for Team USA at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, and there are many mattresses in its line that we’re fans of. Its …

Cart owners and customers may not have to suck on fumes much longer. A Brooklyn-based startup is testing the use of its e-bike batteries to power food carts, starting with La Chona Mexican on the corner of 30th and Broadway in Manhattan. “This really started out as a lark last summer,” David Hammer, co-founder and CEO of PopWheels, told TechCrunch. “I’m an ex-Googler from the early days, and this felt like a classic, old-school 20% project.” Normally, PopWheels battery packs are zipping around the city strapped to food delivery bikes. The team soon realized that connecting them to food carts was an avenue worth pursuing. “Are e-bike packs the perfect energy type to be powering food carts? Maybe, maybe not,” Hammer said. “I …
