The Hollywood legend known for leading roles in Spartacus, Lust for Life and Paths of Glory died aged 103 in February 2020. His widow Anne, Michael Douglas’s stepmother, died the following year aged 102. According to TMZ, the trust executed by Kirk and Anne set out which family members would inherit parts of their considerable estate. Kirk Douglas had four children – Michael, Eric, Joel and Peter Douglas. His grandchildren were apparently also named as beneficiaries in his will. The British actor, 56, had been scheduled to front the hit comedy show at London’s Trafalgar Theatre until 18 July, playing Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of the late US president Abraham Lincoln. US actor Mason Alexander Park, who originated the role on the West End, will step in to replace Tate for the remainder of her performances. Cole Escola, who wrote Oh Mary! and starred in the original Broadway version, will take over the role from 20 July. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has completed the mammoth Three Peaks Challenge to show what life looks like after a cancer diagnosis. The 44-year-old royal, who temporarily stopped duties in 2024 to receive treatment for an undisclosed form of the disease, scaled Scotland’s Ben Nevis (1,345m), England’s Scafell Pike (978m), and Wales’ Mount Snowdon (1,085m) solo within 24 hours, finishing on Sunday (Jun 28). Catherine – who was supported along the route by Mountain Rescue – was greeted by husband, William, Prince of Wales, 44; their children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight; as well as her parents Carole Middleton, 71, and Michael Middleton, 77; and her brother James Middleton,39, at the base of Mount Snowdon after completing the challenge. Catherine Corcoran, the actress known for her genre work, has been tapped as the first horror ambassador of Raindance Film Festival, a role that comes in partnership with her production company FareStream Pictures and coincides with the launch of the festival’s dedicated horror programming slate. Corcoran’s horror credits include Terrifier, Terrifier 2, Return to Nuke ‘Em High Volume 1 and Volume 2, Long Lost, Faceless After Dark, If It Bleeds and Big Baby, among others. She also made headlines last year after filing a lawsuit related to the Terrifier franchise.  “Independent horror has always thrived by creating community first,” Corcoran said in a statement. “Raindance has spent decades championing fearless filmmakers and queer artists and I’m honored to help expand a platform that celebrates voices redefining the genre.” As Corcoran noted, horror is having a moment — particularly original horror.
