The comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant has claimed that he was asked to host The Traitors, but turned it down. Winkleman has hosted BBC One’s The Traitors since it first started airing in 2022, and began presenting the celebrity spin-off when it launched last year. Speaking to Australian breakfast programme Today, Bailey said that he was in the running to host the franchise. Alan Cumming and Claudia Winkleman “never cross” paths at Ardross Castle, where they film the American and British versions of The Traitors, but they do leave surprises for each other, he tells HELLO! in an exclusive interview. Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe have been confirmed as the new hosts of Strictly Come Dancing following the departures of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. In October 2025, Daly and Winkleman delivered the shocking news that they would be leaving their roles as hosts of the BBC’s flagship entertainment programme, saying it “felt like the right time”. Since 2014, Tess and Claudia have hosted the show together, with Tess at the helm since Strictly’s inception in 2004 and Claudia making the move from It Takes Two to the main results show in 2010, before taking on full weekend duties following Sir Bruce Forsyth’s departure. Oscar-Nominated Sentimental Value star Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas will join The Secret Agent lead Wagner Moura on Brazilian film The Outsider, where Ibsdotter Lilleaas will have the central role.   Bringing together stars of the two biggest non-English language movies at this year’s Academy Awards, The Outsider (A Estrangeira) is produced by São Paulo’s Maria Farinha Filmes and written and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Sandra Delgado (Disney’s Maria: The Outlaw Legend).  Related Articles Oscar nominated for The Secret Agent which won him a best actor award last year at Cannes, Moura is already on board as one of The Outsider’s executive producers. He will also play a key role in the film.  Based on two decades of research, Delgado’s first fiction feature, The Outsider is described as an “intimate biopic” of photographer Claudia Andujar, who will be played by Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas. BBC bosses reportedly plan to hold Strictly Come Dancing presenter auditions this week. Nine stars are in contention for the Strictly jobs, after Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly quit the hit TV series in 2025. A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s not just about reading autocue. They’ll be looking at how people work together and humour is a massive part of it. Six weeks ago, before Claudia Winkleman launched her BBC One Friday night chatshow, media profiles regularly referenced her “Midas touch” with TV formats. She had left one golden programme, sashaying away from Strictly Come Dancing, but her portfolio still included three other winners: the mega hit The Traitors, its celebrity spin-off for the BBC, and Channel 4’s The Piano. Half a dozen sofa chats later, Winkleman hasn’t exactly suffered the fate of the mythic King Midas, but The Claudia Winkleman Show can fairly be seen as her least glittering work for several years. Ratings are reasonable. Her debut edition on 13 March drew slightly more viewers (1.5 million) than the last show of the 33rd series of The Graham Norton Show, the granddaddy of the genre. Catch-up viewing – generally considered at least as important as “overnights” in the industry – added another 700,000. Even so – and although Winkleman has visibly relaxed into a format where she understandably seemed nervous at first – there remains a sense that this series is a slightly dubious …
