We all have a picture of the kind of leader people tend to respect and look to for direction: They’re decisive, they create a clear roadmap, and they help their teams understand where they’re headed and what it will take to get there. And yes, those qualities still matter. But they also come from a version of leadership that assumes things are fairly steady. And that, with enough experience, enough data, and enough business acumen, a leader can make a smart call and have a reasonable sense of what’s coming next. Today, many leaders are making decisions amid moving targets, shifting priorities, and changing market conditions. New pressures show up before the last ones are fully sorted out. Sometimes the data helps. Sometimes it doesn’t. That doesn’t let leaders off the hook when it comes to creating clarity. It means the job has changed. Clarity is no longer about having the perfect answer or laying out a flawless long-range plan. It’s about helping people move forward when not everything is known. It’s about naming what’s …

NICOSIA, Cyprus (AP) — European Union leaders meeting in Cyprus need to start preparing a playbook on what should happen if an EU country under attack puts out a call for help from bloc partners, the president of Cyprus said. In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday, President Nikos Christodoulides said EU leaders will discuss “giving substance” to Article 42.7 of the bloc’s treaties, which oblige all 27 member states to assist each other in times of crisis. The article states that if a nation is the victim of armed aggression on its territory, its partners should provide “aid and assistance by all the means in their power.” It has never been used before so there’s no hard and fast rules on how EU members should respond to any call for assistance. “We have Article 42.7 and we don’t know what is going to happen if a member state triggers this article,” Christodoulides said ahead of an EU-Mideast summit he is also hosting later this week, expected to focus on the Iran …
Like most (60%) residents of the UK, I live in a hard water area. That means soap lathers less, my hair lays flatter, and my shower head regularly gets blocked by mineral deposits; limescale has taken over my life. So, naturally, I had the genius idea of buying myself a see-through kettle. Every morning, I’m confronted by flaky, pale, hard-to-budge scales that inch further and further up my kettle every day. And while I’ve tried (and loved) specially-designed descaler products before, today’s limescale rage needed a same-day solution. Reddit seemed to offer a solution. In a post shared to r/CasualUK, site user u/benanderson89 said: ”[Today I learned] you can descale a kettle with a lemon.” So, I thought I’d try it to see how it went (and for reference, here’s the dismal, shameful “before” picture). How do you descale a kettle with a lemon? According to the Redditor, you’re meant to put the juice of one or two lemons into a cold, dry kettle, swirl the juice around, and leave it for an hour. After …
Smith, 24, and her husband now share four kids: Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, Whimsy Lou, and Fawnie Golden. Because of their large families and the nature of their viral content, Smith and Neeleman both tend to get cited in conversations about a conservative cultural resurgence; in 2024, Nara and Lucky Blue Smith even took their kids to visit the Neeleman clan in Kamus, Utah. But Smith herself identifies as a working mom rather than a “hardcore Mormon.” In an exclusive interview, she tells VF that she’s hoping to shift the emphasis away from online debates and back toward her real passion: cutting processed foods out of her family’s diet. Smith says she started reverse engineering things like cereal and Oreos as a young mother, after suffering a bad case of eczema. Now, the goal is to keep expanding her business outside of your iPhone screen. “Ultimately, I’m building a culinary lifestyle empire, and we’re only at the very beginning,” she says. “The most natural thing to do is put this cookbook out, and then just …

NOTTINGHAM, England, April 19 : Morgan Gibbs-White scored a 15-minute hat-trick as Nottingham Forest came from a goal down to beat Burnley 4-1 and move five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone on Sunday. Forest, who began the day two points above 18th-placed Tottenham Hotspur, trailed to Zian Flemming’s goal in stoppage time at the end of a dismal first half. The hosts appeared flat after the exertions of reaching the Europa League semi-finals in midweek, but Gibbs-White seized the moment to inspire his side to a vital three points. Gibbs-White equalised just past the hour mark with a neat finish and put Forest ahead seven minutes later with a ferocious volley past Martin Dubravka. He then met a Ryan Yates cross with a majestic header in the 77th minute to complete his first career hat-trick. “Every game from now until the end of the season is going to be so important for us,” Gibbs-White said. “Every game is a final. We will give everything from now until the end of the season. …
