Weather maps turn blue as forecasts predict coldest day in June – just 1C | Weather | News

Britain has experienced a rollercoaster of weather in recent weeks, with a record-breaking heatwave followed by a sharp cool-down. While temperatures as extreme as the 33C recorded in May are not expected to return this month, forecasters predict more swings between warm and chilly conditions. According to the latest forecasts from WXCharts, temperatures are not expected to consistently climb above 20C until mid-June, with highs of around 25C forecast for London on June 15. However, before the warmer weather arrives, parts of the UK are set to face a brief cold spell. On June 11 at 6am, temperatures could drop as low as 1C in parts of Scotland, while much of the rest of the country is expected to see overnight lows of between 5C and 8C. Northern England is forecast to dip to around 5C, while even the typically warmer South East is unlikely to rise much above 10C.
