Upcoming Beats Headphones Teased in a Second Color by Lamine Yamal

A few days after teasing upcoming Beats over-ear headphones in pink, football superstar Lamine Yamal today shared a Story on his Instagram account revealing a second color for the unreleased headphones: an ivory or stone color. The Instagram Story is a still photo showing Yamal greeting a fan, and he is carrying a bag with both the pink and ivory color versions of the headphones hanging around the bag’s strap, but we don’t have any other views of the product. It’s still unclear exactly what features these upcoming headphones are going to offer, and whether they will be considered a successor to the current Beats Studio Pro over-ear model or if they will be a separate product. The headphones first appeared a couple of weeks ago in a U.S. Federal Communications Commission database, but we don’t yet know when they will see a public release. Every year, over 4,000 people die from unintentional drowning across the United States.  Swim safety experts say drowning is highly preventable. They recommend learning basic swimming skills, designating “water watchers” to keep an eye on children in the water, and avoiding swimming alone or under the influence. But what if your outfit could stop you from drowning? Swim safety experts say wearing the right color on your next beach day is a good way to stay visible and out of harm’s way—especially for inexperienced swimmers and kids. So what are the safest swimsuit colors? Lisa Zarda, Executive Director of the U.S. Swim School Association, says people wearing bright, neon colors are …

First Look at iPhone 18 Pro Color Options Revealed by Dummy Models

First Look at iPhone 18 Pro Color Options Revealed by Dummy Models

Leaker Sonny Dickson today shared images of iPhone 18 Pro dummy models in the device’s four rumored colors, offering the first real-world look at what to expect from the lineup visually. Corroborating previous rumors, the dummies show the ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max in Light Blue, Black, Silver, and Dark Cherry. Dickson said “Cherry will probably be the next hit, orange did very well.” Cosmic Orange was the signature color of the iPhone 17 Pro and proved popular with customers. Dark Cherry is expected to serve as the headline new color for the ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ models this year. The color has been in the rumor mill since at least February 2026, when Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was testing a deep red finish for the ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max. At the time, Gurman described the shade as a deep red, and separate reporting from a Chinese leaker later suggested the color was very likely to make the cut, partly because Android rivals were already prototyping the same shade. First look …

I didn’t expect a color eReader to look this good

I didn’t expect a color eReader to look this good

My parents realized that my reading addiction was going nowhere when I finished the entire Harry Potter series in under a week when I was hardly a teenager. They also realized that continuing to feed into my addiction by buying books for me meant that they’d need to get a separate room, and probably another income stream, just to keep up. Fortunately, all of this meant that convincing them to get me my first eReader wasn’t all that difficult. Fast forward to today, while life has unfortunately gotten in the way of the kind of marathon reading sessions my younger self took for granted, my love for eReaders has only deepened. While I started with an old Kindle that did the job well enough, my standards have risen considerably since then. I’ve also tested a bunch of color eReaders along the way, and somewhere in there, I’ve formed an opinion that puts me at odds with most of the internet: they’re actually great. Yes, the colors are muted and washed out And that’s exactly why …

What Color Shoes Should You Wear With a Gray Suit?

What Color Shoes Should You Wear With a Gray Suit?

Choosing the right shoes to wear with a gray suit usually begins with color: black, chocolate brown, maybe something more seasonal. And that’s a good place to start. It’s not where the decision ends. “The biggest determining factor in finding the right footwear for a gray suit is going to be your cloth,” says Chase Winfrey, editorial director of the New York bespoke tailor J. Mueser. “That makes up so much of whether a suit is casual or formal. A worsted wool charcoal suit… feels much more formal than a linen suit.” In other words, listen to the suit. Color is a baseline. Fabric, texture, and even the cut determine whether a pair of shoes actually works with a certain suit. Here’s how to determine which color shoes you should wear with your gray suit, according to tailoring experts. Styling the spectrum from light gray to charcoal Shade is a great way to narrow things down. On the one end of the spectrum, light gray suits lean more casual, so lighter, softer shoes like tan …

iOS 27 Siri Redesign Will Use Dark Color Scheme, Matching Apple’s WWDC Art

iOS 27 Siri Redesign Will Use Dark Color Scheme, Matching Apple’s WWDC Art

Apple is redesigning Siri for iOS 27 to accommodate new artificial intelligence features and chatbot capabilities. ‌Siri‌ is getting a dedicated app, integration with the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, and a new design scheme. The graphics that Apple is using to promote WWDC hint at its design plans for ‌Siri‌, according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. In this week’s Power On newsletter, Gurman said the logo Apple uses for its WWDC website features the same colors it will use for ‌Siri‌ animations and input fields in ‌iOS 27‌. Apple’s WWDC site features the Swift bird logo in white on a black background, with subtle highlights in pink, dark blue, purple, and orange. The colors are reminiscent of the current ‌Siri‌ animation that surrounds the iPhone’s display when ‌Siri‌ is activated, but the shades are softer and not as saturated. The ‌Siri‌ interface that Apple is testing uses all dark colors with no light mode available for now. Several of the new ‌Siri‌ UI elements will have a dark background with a cursor that blinks in those same …

The T1 Trump Phone Is the Same Color as Scrooge McDuck’s Gold Coins

1 of 16Patrick Holland/CNET The Trump Phone After nine months of delays, the Trump Mobile T1 phone (nicknamed “The Trump Phone”) shipped to members of the media. We got our hands on one we preordered, and its gold color is ornate, bordering on gaudy. 2 of 16Patrick Holland/CNET Perhaps one of the few elements that survived from the original odd mockup of the Trump Phone from June 2025 was the American flag on the back. It has 50 stars, but looks to be missing some stripes. 3 of 16Patrick Holland/CNET Instead of the gold “Make America Great Again” wallpaper from the original mockup, the home screen now has a royal blue background with Trump Mobile in white. If that’s not your jam, you can change it. 4 of 16Patrick Holland/CNET The T1 Trump Mobile phone comes with a case, a wall charger and even a gold USB-C cable. There is a tiny user manual that is only in English. 5 of 16Patrick Holland/CNET The Trump Phone has a waterfall display design that was popular on …

Lawsuit Accuses Massachusetts Schools of Segregating Students of Color in Low-Opportunity Districts

Lawsuit Accuses Massachusetts Schools of Segregating Students of Color in Low-Opportunity Districts

A lawsuit filed Wednesday on behalf of students and community organizations in Massachusetts argues the state is illegally maintaining schools that are racially segregated, concentrating Black and Latino students in high-poverty districts with fewer opportunities. The lawsuit challenges the state’s practice of assigning students to schools based solely on where they live, which can lead to patterns of housing segregation being replicated in school systems. The case is the latest example of efforts to address segregation and funding inequities through state-level litigation. Even before the Trump administration began taking steps to release districts in the Deep South from court-ordered desegregation efforts, integration efforts had fallen far from their peak decades ago when the federal government intervened in school systems around the U.S. The plaintiffs include nine students and four community organizations from segregated school districts across Massachusetts, including Springfield, Holyoke, Boston, Lawrence, Brockton, Lynn, and Worcester. The districts border more affluent, predominantly white districts where the plaintiffs are unable to enroll. In response to the lawsuit, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education said …

Apple Bought Color Grading Tool Color.io in January

Apple Bought Color Grading Tool Color.io in January

Apple purchased a small, one-person company called Patchflyer back in January, according to new acquisition disclosures provided by the European Union. Patchflyer was owned by Jonathan Ochmann, who created Color.io, a web-based color grading tool popular with photographers and filmmakers. Apple purchased Color.io and is employing Ochmann. Last year, Ochmann announced Color.io’s impending closure in November, and said that he was joining a company that will let him work at a scale he could not reach on his own. “After 10+ years of running everything alone, I’ve reached a point where I need to grow in ways that aren’t possible as a solo builder,” he wrote. Color.io was known for an easy-to-use but powerful tool for adding film-like color and texture to images. It used a custom color engine and custom color models, and it had a rich library of tools for manipulating color. Ochmann also designed the popular VisionColor LUTs prior to creating Color.io. Color.io went offline on December 31, 2025, with about five weeks of warning for the app’s 200,000+ users. Now that …

How Yasujirō Ozu Learned to Use Color in His Masterful Films: A New Every Frame a Painting Video Essay

Yasujirō Ozu was born in 1903, and made films from the late nineteen-twenties up until his death in 1963. Though not an especially long life, it spanned Japan’s pre- and postwar eras, meaning that in many ways, it ended in a very different country than it began. Not that you’d know it from Ozu’s films, whose distinctive form and style must have changed less through the decades than those of any of his colleagues. For viewers only casually acquainted with his oeuvre, it’s easy to joke that if you’ve seen one of his pictures, you’ve seen them all. But true Ozu enthusiasts, whose numbers have steadily grown all around the world since the filmmaker’s death, understand that each phase of his career offers distinctive pleasures of its own. In fact, Ozu persisted through sweeping changes in not just world history, but also the history of cinema. His first 34 films were silent, the next fourteen were sound in black-and-white, and his last six were in color. It is to the domestic master’s third act that …
