Massive cushioning has been the trend in running shoes for some time now, but even in a sea of massive midsoles, On’s new shoe feels very cushiony. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reported at least $250 million in income and other proceeds last year, much of it from the financial businesses he left behind when he joined the Trump administration, according to CNBC’s calculations from his newly released 2025 annual financial disclosure. The largest piece was a $192 million distribution from Cantor Fitzgerald, the global financial services firm Lutnick led for decades. His annual financial disclosure describes the payment as a tax distribution handled under the ethics agreement he signed before taking office. The 74-page filing obtained by CNBC from the Office of Government Ethics provides the fullest accounting yet of Lutnick’s finances during his first year in government. Because federal financial disclosures report many assets in broad ranges, the filing does not provide a precise estimate of his wealth. Still, Lutnick remains one of the wealthiest members of Trump’s cabinet, but pales in comparison to the more than $2 billion the president earned last year. Meta’s next VR headset isn’t a headset. Meta VR Glasses weigh about 100 grams (about the same as a deck of cards) because the processor, the battery, and the storage all moved out of the frames and into a puck that clips to your pocket. They’ll cost $1,299.99 when they ship in spring 2027, and they run without controllers. For a comparison, the Quest 3 that people are wearing right now weighs 515 grams. That was the centerpiece of the Meta Connect event on Tuesday night, but the company also introduced a $349 pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses with no camera at all, a third generation of the camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta line at $449, a batch of software for the Meta Ray-Ban Display, and a transatlantic cable rated for a petabit per second.
