The two Summer House stars shared a joint statement Tuesday on Instagram, writing that “what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected.” Batula, 34, announced her separation from husband of four years and Summer House castmate, Kyle Cooke, in January. Their relationship has been a main storyline throughout the show’s ten seasons. Wilson, 31, had a messy end to his brief relationship with their co-star — and Batula’s close friend — Ciara Miller in 2023. The situation harkens memories of the 2023 “Scandoval” that rocked another hit Bravo show, Vanderpump Rules, when it emerged that longtime cast member Tom Sandoval had been having an affair with …

Watch: Top Arms Control Official Refuses To Confirm Israel Has Nukes

In the latest indication of America’s deteriorating relationship with the State of Israel, a federal legislator used a Capitol Hill hearing to ask a simple but long-forbidden question of America’s top arms control official: “Does Israel have nuclear weapons?”  The official repeatedly refused to say what everyone knows — that Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons. Worse, straining credulity, he told his interrogator, Texas Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro, that “it would be outside of my purview as the arms control and arms proliferation under secretary to discuss that specific question.” Castro replied, “Sir, that is a dereliction of duty.”  The exchange took place in a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Wednesday, with Castro grilling Under Secretary of State for Arms Control Thomas G. DiNanno. Castro persisted through DiNanno’s repeated dodging of the question. “The consequences, as you know, are grave. This war continues to escalate,” said Castro. DiNanno also refused to say if he himself knew the answer but was not allowed to say so. We are four weeks into a war where both sides have targeted each …

Psychologists confirm that a canceled meeting is good for you

Psychologists confirm that a canceled meeting is good for you

Get the Popular Science daily newsletter💡 Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent six days a week. Cancelled plans—particularly a meeting at work—can feel like an enormous gift. Even if it’s just an hour, getting that ping that an afternoon meeting is off feels liberating. But why? Unexpectedly getting time back in our day alters our psychological perception of how time passes, which then affects how we spend it.  “An hour gained feels longer than 60 minutes, and that deviation from expectation creates a unique sense of opportunity,” Gabriela Tonietto, a Rutgers University market researcher, explained in a statement. Tonietto is also the lead author of a new study published in the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research exploring why those cancelled plans make us feel so free.  Tonietto studies time management, which is critical for productivity. Her previous work examined the hidden costs of over-scheduling, the benefits of having nothing to do, and the sensation of a time famine, or constantly feeling like we don’t have enough time.  In this study, Tonietto and colleagues …

Researchers Confirm Location of Lost City of Alexandria on the Tigris

An international team of researchers has confirmed the rediscovery of the lost city of Alexandria on the Tigris in Iraq. Founded by Alexander the Great (356 BCE–323 BCE), whose brief empire stretched from Greece to the Indus River and encompassed swathes of Europe, the Middle East, and Central and South Asia, it was a vital trading center until the 3rd century CE. News of the find was announced in January by the University of Konstanz in Germany, whose chair of Mediterranean and Near Eastern archaeology Professor Stefan Hauser leads the archeological initiative documenting the site. Related Articles Alexandria on the Tigris (later renamed Charax Spasinou) was one of several major cities founded by the Macedonian general, the most famous of which is Alexandria in Egypt, today the country’s second largest metropolis. Unlike its Egyptian counterpart, however, it was lost to time; by the third century CE the Tigris River, which connected it to maritime shipping, had shifted westward, and the settlement was largely abandoned. In the mid-20th century, researcher John Hansman, reviewing aerial photographs, made …

Ancient Historians Confirm the Darkness and Earthquake Associated with Christ’s Crucifixion – OpentheWord.org

Ancient Historians Confirm the Darkness and Earthquake Associated with Christ’s Crucifixion – OpentheWord.org

The darkness associated with Christ’s crucifixion by Émile Bernard, Wikipedia, Public Domain Easter Sunday takes place on April 5, 2026. It marks the day that Jesus rose from the dead. So it is appropriate to deal with one of the earliest references of Christ’s crucifixion from a nonChristian source. It involves a man by the name of Thallus who around 52 AD wrote three books on the history of the Mediterranean world. This was about 30 years after Christ’s crucifixion. Though copies of his works have not survived, we know they exist as fragments have been found. His works were also referenced by several other writers. One of the most intriguing was made by a Christian writer, Sextus Julius Africanus, who died around 240 AD. He was a historian and philosopher. By all accounts he was careful in citing his sources. The Gospel writers Mark, Luke and Matthew speak of the unusual darkness that took place when Jesus was crucified. Matthew describes it this way: 45 Now from noon until three, darkness came over all the …
