A house designed by the storied architect Richard Neutra in Los Angeles’s Nichols Canyon is up for sale for an asking price of $5.95 million. Designed in 1962, the so-called Hendershot House was built for Robert Hendershot and his wife Harumi Taniguchi, and was later expanded by the architect’s son Dion Neutra. It was featured in the 2010 Taschen monograph Neutra. Complete Works and was restored in 2023 with an AIA|LA Emerging Practice Award–winning renovation. According to the Compass listing for the sale, “The home represents Neutra at his most refined: ribbon windows, deep overhangs, full-height sliding glass walls, and a masterful response to a sloping canyon site sheltered by native trees and canyon plantings enjoyed from nearly every room in the house.” The house—measuring in at 3,371 square feet over three levels—was sold previously in 2017 to architect Eve Steele, who knew Hendershot and Taniguchi. The Critics Choice Association started Pride Month festivities early, as the organization hosted its third annual Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television on Friday in Los Angeles. The event recognized a star-studded lineup of LGBTQ+ stars and creatives, with Dan Levy, Hannah Einbinder, Noah Schnapp, Jane Lynch and Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney all receiving honors. Levy, currently on the Emmy campaign trail for his new show Big Mistakes, opened up in his speech about his desire for queer people to be able to make Hollywood projects “without the added weight of responsibility — knowing that what we make needs to work in order to make an impact, in order for more of our stories to be told. Dan Levy knows there’s no Schitt’s Creek without Catherine O’Hara. During a recent interview on CBS News Sunday Morning, the Emmy-winning actor, producer and showrunner visited Goodwood — the small town in Ontario, Canada, where Schitt’s Creek was filmed — for the first time since the sitcom wrapped in 2020. While standing outside the store that was once called Rose Apothecary, the fictional boutique his character David Rose owned, CBS News’ Anthony Mason asked if there was any chance for a sequel series. “No. Not now,” Levy replied. “You can’t.” The Big Mistakes co-creator added that at one point, he was “thinking about” a follow-up to Schitt’s Creek. However, that was before O’Hara died on Jan. 30 at age 71 from a pulmonary embolism, with rectal cancer as the underlying cause. Levy, the show’s co-creator, had previously that fan speculation had inspired him to consider a potential revival of the Emmy-winning comedy series after it aired from 2015 to 2020.
