Disney’s Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul Opens Up About MS Battle

Disney’s Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul Opens Up About MS Battle

After spending most of her career behind the scenes, Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul took center stage at the Race to Erase MS Gala on Friday night. Bulochnikov-Paul, who serves as executive vp of communications at Disney Entertainment Television, was honored with the Medal of Hope at the event, in recognition of her battle with multiple sclerosis. Upon receiving her award from MS advocate and Center Without Walls founder Nancy Davis, the exec admitted, “When Nancy first asked me to do this, I hesitated — not because I didn’t want to, but because I was afraid. Will people look at me differently? Is this bad for my career? Will my kids worry about me?” But, she continued, “I knew that being here tonight was important, and I decided I wasn’t going to let MS define me. I’ve spent my entire career in communication, I know how to own a narrative, and I sure as hell was going to own mine.” Bulochnikov-Paul noted how she’s been introduced to a beautiful community since she was diagnosed, and particularly pointed to her …

Disney’s Marvel Comics Faces Mass Layoffs And New Woke Leadership

Disney’s Marvel Comics Faces Mass Layoffs And New Woke Leadership

The saga of woke comics is the saga of woke America.  Much like video games, comics and superhero movies were ignored by conservative movements as “meaningless kids stuff” until recently, which is part of the reason why those industries were so easily invaded by leftists and used to indoctrinate millions of children and teens a decade ago. Culture is more important than politics.  This is obvious.  It’s a fact that leftists have understood for generations and one that conservatives have foolishly dismissed.  Only in the past few years has there been a shift; at least, the progressive rampage through America’s various media institutions has been stalled and slightly reversed.  But, the most captured platforms are not going to change anytime soon, even in the face of financial decline and mass layoffs.  Disney and Marvel have recently announced a shake-up of the comics division, with over a thousand layoffs this year (after moderate layoffs over the past few years), and new executive leadership.  Far-left DEI advocate Dan Buckley is on the way out.  This change is …

How Route 66 inspired Disney’s ‘Cars’ and Car

How Route 66 inspired Disney’s ‘Cars’ and Car

Route 66 has its tendrils throughout SoCal, and especially in the L.A. area, winding through Pasadena, West Hollywood and culminating in Santa Monica. But the most loving ode to Route 66 may in fact be at the Disneyland Resort, specifically at Disney California Adventure. Stories, photos and travel recommendations from America’s Mother Road Cars Land opened in 2012 as part of a reworking of the theme park and at long last gave it a striking land that could rival — and in many cases surpass — those of its next-door neighbor, Disneyland. Flanked by sun-scarred, reddish rocks that look lifted from Arizona, Cars Land is a marvel of a theme park land, with its backdrop mountain range ever so slightly nodding to the fins of classic Cadillacs from 1957 to 1962. That design element is a salute to the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas, where 10 vintage Cadillacs are buried nose-first in the ground that to many resembles a 20th century Stonehenge. Yet before the area was attached to the 2006 film, it was envisioned …

‘Anxiety-inducing’ 6-part thriller Watching You is Disney+’s biggest hidden gem

There’s nothing like settling in for a tense thriller, and Disney+ recently added Watching You, a six-part series that had viewers completely hooked. If you missed it following its February release, the show follows Lina (Aisha Dee) as she has a passionate one-night affair in a rental property. However, Lina soon discovers that her tryst was secretly recorded by a hidden camera, and someone is threatening to release the footage and shatter her life. The six-part series, which is based on the book The Last Guests by J. P. Pomare, was originally released in Australia back in 2025 before Disney+ and Hulu acquired the rights to broadcast the show. The synopsis for Watching You reads: “Lina is happily engaged, but a chance encounter with a stranger culminates in a one-night stand. When the affair is secretly filmed and used to blackmail her, she hunts the voyeur, only to discover the danger is far closer than she could imagine.” Who stars in Watching You? The erotic thriller stars Aisha Dee (Apple Cider Vinegar) as Lina, while …

‘Perfect Crown’ Scores Disney+’s Biggest K-Drama Debut to Date

‘Perfect Crown’ Scores Disney+’s Biggest K-Drama Debut to Date

Perfect Crown is Disney‘s new streaming king in the Korean drama category. The smash-hit rom-com, which launched on Disney+ on April 10, has achieved the platform’s biggest-ever viewership for a Korean series within five days of launch. Disney+ announced the record on Thursday but declined to release specific viewership figures, saying only that Perfect Crown has become the No. 1 most-viewed Korean series premiere on the platform globally. The series — which also airs domestically on MBC in Korea’s coveted Friday-Saturday prime-time slot — is set in an alternate-reality version of modern South Korea where the country remains a constitutional monarchy. Pop-star-turned-actress IU stars as Seong Hui-ju, the sharp-elbowed heir to a major Korean conglomerate whose commoner status grates against her ambition. Byeon Woo-seok plays Grand Prince I-AN, the king’s second son, whose royal title comes with little else. When mounting pressures push the two into a marriage of convenience, the arrangement proves harder to keep strictly transactional than either of them planned. Byeon Woo-seok and IU star in ‘Perfect Crown.’ Disney+ The pairing has …

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting ready to go wild with at least nine new attractions on the way – though that also means saying goodbye to some longtime spots that have been part of the park for years. The transformation is already underway at the Orlando park, as Disney pushes forward with a major overhaul of DinoLand U.S.A. The project will introduce a brand-new “Tropical Americas” land, according to permits filed by Walt Disney Imagineering, as reported by Disney blog Inside the Magic. The filings cover several areas of the redevelopment zone and suggest construction is ramping up as Disney moves toward a multi-year rollout expected to open in 2027, which it initially annouced in 2024. The plan is …

Disney’s Live-Action Moana Trailer: Dwayne Johnson’s Wig Is A Distraction

Disney’s Live-Action Moana Trailer: Dwayne Johnson’s Wig Is A Distraction

Following the mixed success of recent offerings Snow White, Lilo & Stitch and the Lion King prequel Mufasa, Moana is the latest animated Disney movie to be getting a live-action remake. Less than a decade on from the release of the original animated movie, a new live-action version of Moana is hitting cinemas this summer – with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reprising the role of Maui from the original films for this latest take on the hit franchise. On Monday evening, Disney shared a first-look trailer of the studio’s new spin on Moana, depicting the former WWE performer in character as Maui for the first time, having lent his voice to the demi-god in the original animated musical. And while the reaction to the clip has been pretty mixed, one thing people are more or less unanimous on is the absolute jump-scare presented by Johnson’s hairpiece. Yes, Johnson’s transformation into Maui includes a hefty body suit and a long flowing wig, the latter of which it’s fair to say that people aren’t exactly convinced by… …

Disney’s Josh D’Amaro era begins following Bob Iger handoff

Disney’s Josh D’Amaro era begins following Bob Iger handoff

Walt Disney Co. installed Josh D’Amaro as chief executive Wednesday, beginning a new chapter for the storied Burbank entertainment giant. Bob Iger passed the reins during Disney’s virtual annual meeting of shareholders, completing the company’s high-stakes and tightly choreographed changing of the guard. After spending two decades molding Disney into a media colossus, Iger segued into a senior advisory role, which will run through December when he officially retires. The leadership shift comes amid an upheaval in Hollywood as traditional companies wage a desperate battle for survival. D’Amaro, in his first address to shareholders, pointed to Disney’s signature storytelling as its competitive edge. “While others in our industry are consolidating just to compete, or struggling to be relevant in a fragmented and disrupted world, Disney is in a category of one,” D’Amaro said during a video segment at the meeting. “This next chapter will be driven by staying focused on world-class creativity, enhanced by technology, bringing unforgettable stories to audiences wherever they are.” D’Amaro, 55, becomes the ninth leader in Disney’s 102-year history. He was …

Disney’s Live-Action Remake Is Dead, Says Director

Disney’s Live-Action Remake Is Dead, Says Director

Fans of Disney‘s 1970s animated feature Robin Hood aren’t likely to be feeling particularly merry after the latest update about a potential live-action remake. During a recent Reddit AMA, filmmaker Carlos López Estrada said that the studio was not moving forward with his planned photorealistic musical. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported in April 2020 that Estrada was in early development on the movie for streaming service Disney+ after deals were finalized prior to the industry shutting down amid the COVID-19 pandemic. “It’s dead, sadly,” Estrada wrote in response to a question about the project’s status. “I say ‘sadly’ because I actually thought there was something really special (and original!) there. Some truly extraordinary music we had figured out for it.” The Blindspotting director added, “I keep daydreaming about doing it independently with different characters.” THR previously reported that Kari Granlund was writing the script for a feature remake that would be a hybrid of live action and CG. Granlund worked on the screenplay for Disney’s 2019 version of Lady and the Tramp, which became the …
