New Kids on the Block fans were in for a treat on Monday, May 25 at the American Music Awards, when all five members of the beloved former boyband graced the red carpet. Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood and Jonathan Knight were all in attendance, and moreover performed their 1988 hit “You Got It (The Right Stuff)” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. CBS‘ decision to greenlight a Blue Bloods spin-off was Donnie Wahlberg‘s “dream come true” – until the network revealed production would be in Toronto, Canada, not Donnie’s hometown of Boston. But Donnie has now revealed that he offered to take a 50% pay cut in an effort to encourage CBS to reconsider. “I got offered the job, I’m like, ‘This is a dream come true,’” Donnie, who reprised his role of Danny Reagan in the 2025 spin-off Boston Blue, said. Donnie Wahlberg will always have the support of his Blue Bloods co-stars. It has been over one year since the cast of Blue Bloods filmed their last episode together, after the series was canceled after 14 seasons. Since then, the Danny Reagan actor has continued the role through the spin-off Boston Blue — and separately, is also busy with a New Kids on the Block Las Vegas residency — both of which his former co-star Marisa Ramírez has supported. Over the weekend, Marisa, who starred as Danny’s police partner Detective María Baez, took to Instagram and revealed she was at NKOTB’s latest gig, and, while sitting front row, got to enjoy a sweet reunion between herself and her former co-star Donnie. Actor Donnie Yen receives honorary doctorate, recognising contributions to cinema, martial arts and culture

Hong Kong action star and filmmaker Donnie Yen was conferred an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree by Lingnan University on Monday (Jan 26), in recognition of his decades-long contributions to cinema, martial arts, and Chinese culture. The 62-year-old actor and director received the honorary degree at the Hong Kong university’s Doctorate Conferment Ceremony on Monday (Jan 26), alongside five other recipients. In his citation, Yen, known for his roles in Iron Monkey (1993), Hero (2002), Kill Zone (SPL) (2005), Raging Fire (2021), and more, was hailed a “legendary figure” for the “indelible mark” of his work on the film industry and national culture. Beyond his on-screen performances, the citation also highlighted the global influence of the Ip Man film franchise, which was described as a “cultural phenomenon”, as well as his work as an action choreographer for Hollywood, and his long-standing commitment to humanitarian causes.
