Residents have been evacuated after a fire broke out in a Turkish city. A fire broke out in a forest in the city of Antalya, and it’s spreading rapidly, threatening residential areas. At least one house was completely burned down, according to local reports. The fire broke out in the Karaöz neighbourhood in the city’s Aksu district for reasons which are yet to be determined. A total of 45 fire trucks and 275 firefighters are at the scene, being supported by nine helicopters and three planes. A statement from the Regional Forestry Directorate said: “Our teams are intervening from the air and the ground in the spot fires caused by flammable materials spreading due to the energy of the main fire.” Turkish media outlet Cumhuriyet said residents built barricades to prevent the fire from reaching their homes. Edinburgh Waverley Station has been evacuated with emergency services on the scene. ScotRail has issued an urgent warning that “due to the fire alarm sounding at Edinburgh Waverley the line is closed.
