Iran’s military has posted footage purportedly showing fire aboard a US submarine drone at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC Navy said it targeted an American unmanned surface vessel, the Saildrone Explorer, at the entrance to the vital waterway, according to the state Fars news agency. It accused the vessel, with hull number 5838, of carrying out a mission in the Strait when it was targeted. The IRGC Navy emphasised that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and under the control and intelligence supervision of this force, and any “hostile presence” in the area will be targeted. Quoting senior US officials, Fox News chief national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin reported: “The US military has struck targets near Kharg Island and Jask. “The targets include Iranian oil tankers. This is part of a larger effort to squeeze Iran economically.
