Chelsea FC 0-1 Man City: Antoine Semenyo hits winner as City victorious in FA Cup final

Bernardo Silva fed Erling Haaland into a channel down the right and he looked up to see Semenyo being tightly marshalled by Levi Colwill. In a flash of brilliance, marrying quick thinking with deftness of touch, Semenyo allowed the ball through his legs, hung a deliberate right boot behind him and diverted a finish across the dive of Robert Sanchez into the corner. 4,000 police, armoured vehicles and drones to descend on London as protests and FA Cup final coincide

4,000 police, armoured vehicles and drones to descend on London as protests and FA Cup final coincide

A massive policing operation on a scale “unprecedented in recent years” is being planned as two protest marches and the FA Cup final take place in London on Saturday (May 16). Thousands of officers will take to the streets and armoured vehicles will be deployed along with police horses, dogs, drones and helicopters as the Met aims to avoid clashes between groups of protesters. Heavy restrictions have been put in place in a bid to keep the Unite the Kingdom and pro-Palestine Nakba Day rallies separate, with added concerns that some football fans will go straight from the FA Cup final to the Tommy Robinson event. For the first time under official protest restrictions, organisers of the rallies will face prosecution as well as any speakers who break the law by using the events as a platform for extremism or hate speech. Live facial recognition will be used for the first time in a policing operation around a protest, with cameras set up in a location in Camden that is not on the route of …

Players get their way with Rosenior sacking… and finally show some fight

Hello and welcome to all the live action form today’s FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Leeds at Wembley. Chelsea interim head coach Calum McFarlane is certain the prospect of reaching an FA Cup final will be motivation for his players following their woeful league run that led to Liam Rosenior’s sacking. Five consecutive defeats with no goals scored is the club’s worst run since 1912 and Tuesday’s 3-0 hammering by Brighton proved the final straw for Rosenior, who was dismissed three months into a six-and-a-half-year contract. Today’s semi-final against Leeds could not have come at a worse moment but McFarlane, who has been handed the reins until the end of the season, insisted the capitulation at the Amex Stadium – widely considered to have been the worst performance of the season – will not inhibit the team as they seek a return to Wembley in May. “Really disappointing,” he said of Tuesday’s loss that prompted the hierarchy to remove the manager. “It was hard to watch that, hard to see that. To be dominated …

Calum McFarlane will return to the dugout as crisis-stricken Chelsea face Leeds in the FA Cup semi-final this weekend. Leeds, meanwhile, are in fine late season form, with recent wins over Manchester United and Wolves cooling their relegation fears considerably. They have rather laboured in the cup, though, requiring a penalty shootout to progress through two of their four matches en route to this stage. Daniel Farke’s side has not tasted defeat against Chelsea this season, though, and will hope to go continue that streak under the Wembley arch. Date, kick-off time and venue Chelsea vs Leeds is scheduled for a 3pm BST kick-off on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The match will take place at Wembley Stadium. Where to watch Chelsea vs Leeds TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports 1, with coverage starting at 2pm BST ahead of a 3pm kick-off. Pep Guardiola’s side went top of the Premier League on Wednesday night after beating Burnley at Turf Moor, and can keep their hopes of a domestic double alive against Tonda Eckert’s Saints. The south coast side stunned Arsenal in the previous round to reach this stage of the tournament, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Ross Stewart and Shea Charles. They last reached an FA Cup final in 2003 and will require another huge upset if they are to end that 23-year wait here. Southampton do come into the match on form, though, with a midweek draw with Bristol City ending an eight-match winning streak. Date, kick-off time and venue Man City vs Southampton is scheduled for a 5.15pm BST kick-off on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The match will take place at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal FC: Gabriel Martinelli learns punishment decision for referee push amid red card verdict

Arsenal FC: Gabriel Martinelli learns punishment decision for referee push amid red card verdict

Martinelli was booked for his actions but Hackett believes the Arsenal forward should have been sent off. He said: “Referee Sam Barrott awarded a free-kick to Arsenal, Martinelli comes rushing in and he pushes Sam out of the way. “Now I’m sorry, Gabriel Martinelli showed total disrespect for the match official Sam Barrott in that situation. “Although Sam issued a yellow card, for me it’s a red card. You just cannot put your hands on a referee, let alone push him out of the way. Leeds and West Ham deliver ludicrous Cup tie free from Premier League constraints

Leeds and West Ham deliver ludicrous Cup tie free from Premier League constraints

We are back after Saturday’s goalfest in the FA Cup quarter-finals and this afternoon West Ham take on Leeds United at the London Stadium. It is a draw which raises the question of whether both teams can put their Premier League predicament aside in the hope of a Wembley trip for their fans. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side come into the match having drawn six of their last eight games in 90 minutes across all competitions. Despite this new-found consistency, a lacklustre performance in their last outing against Aston Villa cost them crucial ground in the relegation battle, with Nottingham Forest moving three points clear with their win at Spurs. At home, West Ham have not lost a game at in the last three months. Posing as a tricky side to defeat in front of their home crowd, they strive to keep this cup run alive and reach their first FA Cup semi-final since they finished runners-up in 2006. Twenty years on, this competition has been something to savour for the London side this year, despite …
