At last nine people are feared to have died and more than a dozen are believed to have been injured in a crash involving a freight train and a public bus. The horror incident happened in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, in the late afternoon near an airport rail link station in the central area. Casualty numbers were not immediately confirmed by officials, but local media have reported at least eight fatalities and around 15 injuries. One social media user claiming to be a volunteer firefighter in Thailand alleged the fatalities may be at least nine. Harrowing videos circulating online show the moment of the crash. A Cessna aircraft crashed Monday in South Sudan’s killing all 13 passengers and the pilot, the civil aviation authority said. The plane crashed and burst into flames in poor weather on the outskirts of South Sudan’s capital, Juba. Preliminary reports indicate that the plane arriving from Yei town may have crashed due to weather conditions that caused poor visibility. The civil aviation authority said the dead included two Kenyans, and the rest were South Sudanese. The authority said a team was dispatched to the site about 12 miles outside Juba. The Cessna 208 Caravan, which was operated by CityLink Aviation, lost communication while flying from Yei to Juba International Airport. Air traffic control is understood to have lost contact with the plane after 30 minutes into the journey which would have been a distance of around 80 miles. Four astronauts traveling back to Earth from the far side of the moon on NASA’s Artemis II mission spoke of their emotions as they wrapped up the unprecedented flight and prepared to re-enter the atmosphere in a “fireball”, during their first press conference from space on Wednesday. When a massive star runs out of fuel, it can collapse and explode in several ways. If a black hole is produced in the collapse, an extremely powerful jet of radiation can burst through the star, producing a flash of high-energy light called a gamma ray burst. These bursts are among the most powerful explosions in the universe and can emit energy equivalent to the total lifetime output of smaller stars, such as the sun, in a single beam. But astronomers still don’t know exactly how this process works or how variations between different massive stars affect the jet. A plane has crashed in the Maharashtra region of India, killing the state’s deputy leader along with four other people. Ajit Pawar and four other people were on the private plane travelling from India’s financial capital, Mumbai, to the minister’s home city, Baramati. The reason for the crash, which happened in a field 159miles from Mumbai, was not immediately known.
