Grace season 6 ends on show’s biggest cliffhanger yet at Roy’s wedding

Grace season 6 ends on show’s biggest cliffhanger yet at Roy’s wedding

There were moments at which the fourth and final episode of Grace season 6 felt like a series finale, bringing John Simm’s woes and fears to an end. After solving this week’s case, Roy prepared for his wedding day with Cleo, but was granted an early gift from his colleague Nick. Nick showed him that footage had been found from the hospital in Munich the day that Roy’s wife Sandy died. In the footage, a man wearing hospital scrubs was seen roaming the corridors, wearing a mask and cap. In spite of his attempts to remain undetected, one snapshot image identified him as Albazi, the Benchdale gang leader who had been making threats to Roy’s son Bruno, and terrorising Glenn’s family as he got too close to the truth. Nick revealed that the footage had been sent to Munich police, and that, because of this, the prosecution in Albazi’s case felt confident that they would be able to secure a conviction. Upon this news, the whole team celebrated, with Glenn surmising that the entire Benchdale …

Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco Were Married 70 Years Ago Today. Here are 10 Things You Might Not Know About The Wedding

The term “fairy tale” is often used to describe the love story between Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco, and it is not an exaggeration. The movie diva and the heir to the Monegasque dynasty swore eternal love to each other seventy years ago today, resulting in one of the twentieth century’s most legendary bonds. He, of blue blood, was considered Europe’s most coveted bachelor; she, an icon of elegance and muse of Alfred Hitchcock, had already won an Academy Award. Their gazes famously met for the first time on the Croisette in 1955, and from that moment on, nothing was the same. At that time, however, neither of them had a truly stable romantic situation. Grace was dating Jean-Pierre Aumont, while Rainier was involved with actress Gisèle Pascal. A few months after their first meeting, however, Rainier asked for Grace’s hand in marriage, with an extraordinary engagement ring embellished with a 12-carat diamond. With that, Grace decided to abandon her blazing career in Hollywood and move to the small principality of Monaco. …

Who’s in the cast of Grace season 6? Full list of actors & characters

The latest season of ITV’s gritty crime drama Grace wraps up with it’s fourth and final episode tonight – with John Simm’s Roy Grace and Richie Campbell’s Glenn Branson set to take on another new case in the Brighton area. This one promises to be “one of his most complex cases yet” according to the official synopsis, and will see them called to the scene of a car accident in which a local hotelier was killed by a driver who fled the scene. Of course, Simm and Branson aren’t the only stars back for this latest episode – Zoë Tapper is back as Roy’s fiancée Cleo, who is helping him to raise the son he never knew he had, while Laura Elphinstone is back as DC Bella May. Also returning are Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl, Juliette Motamed as DC Vee Wilde, Rebecca Scroggs as Ari Branson and more. We don’t yet know if we will see Sam Hoare back as Cassian Pewe, after he betrayed the team and was unveiled as a corrupt …

Richard Gadd and MasterChef’s Grace Dent and Anna Haugh are on this week’s covers

Richard Gadd and MasterChef’s Grace Dent and Anna Haugh are on this week’s covers

Welcome to this week’s issue. We have two covers for two very different appetites. For our subscribers, it’s MasterChef and a fresh chapter for one of television’s most enduring formats. Grace Dent and Anna Haugh step into the kitchen as the new presenters: sharp, funny, exacting and, crucially, generous to the contestants. As you’ll read inside this week’s issue, they understand the chaos and the nerves. Dent captures the thrill of the competition perfectly: “To anyone who can get through those first few rounds, I think, wow… it’s like going to a holiday cottage and trying to make a simple omelette.” Haugh adds, with admirable understatement, that it’s all happening “with a film crew and two scary judges interviewing you”. Between them, there’s a clear warmth and enthusiasm that makes me feel optimistic about this new chapter. In contrast, Richard Gadd’s Half Man, his follow-up to Baby Reindeer, is a drama that pulls no punches – emotionally, psychologically or morally. Is it a difficult watch? Yes, but it’s also utterly compelling. And as you can …

Grace episode 3 features nail biting danger for Glenn and his family

*Warning – contains full spoilers for Grace season 6 episode 3.* The third episode of Grace season 6, Dead Man’s Game, saw John Simm’s Roy and Laura Elphinstone’s Bella investigating a murder on a council estate, while Richie Campbell’s Glenn and Brad Morrison’s Nick investigated an armed robbery carried out by four masked men. The two investigations came to a head at the end of the episode, in a terrifying scene which saw Glenn being chased by Chris’s murderer Seb, as he transported John to provide information about his stepdad Damian, the ringleader behind the whole operation. Seb ended up taking both Glenn and John hostage at gunpoint, while Roy and Bella tried to get Damian to call Seb off over the phone. As Damian spoke to Seb, he betrayed Roy, Bella and John’s mum at the last moment, and told Seb to kill them both. Thankfully, Glenn managed to disarm Seb, and they both got out of there alive. Grace episode 2 airs Cassian Sandy bombshell update & threat to Glenn

Grace episode 2 airs Cassian Sandy bombshell update & threat to Glenn

*Warning – contains major spoilers for Grace season 6 episode 2.* The second episode of Grace season 6 predominantly focused on the case of a university student who was found dead, but it also contained some links to the drama’s ongoing storyline surrounding Sandy’s death. At the end of season 5, corrupt cop Cassian Pewe revealed to Roy that his wife Sandy’s death was actually a murder, perpetrated by the Benchdale gang to whom she owed money. That gang, led by the notorious Albazi, would now be coming for Roy and Sandy’s son, Bruno. At the start of season 6, Albazi was being prosecuted, but his trial seemed to be in danger of collapsing. In episode 2, Glenn told Roy that he had a lead – a man in Munich who ran a garage, and was the go-to person for stolen cars and false plates. Glenn suggested he travel to Munich to find out whether the car that killed Sandy had been procured by Albazi or one of his men. That would not only provide …

Grace Kelly’s granddaughter Charlotte Casiraghi is respectful in dramatic black veil for Pope’s visit

Princess Caroline of Monaco’s daughter Charlotte Casiraghi was respectful in an all-black ensemble, featuring a dramatic lace veil, as she attended the welcome ceremony for Pope Leo XIV’s visit to the principality.  The 39-year-old model and socialite wowed in a two-piece skirt suit that had intricate floral detailing running along the jacket’s bodice and chunky rope cording along its lapels.  Large silver buttons were done up to the jacket’s round neckline, and matching buttons lined the lower half of the model’s sleeves. She added a pair of dark black tights that poked out from beneath her pencil skirt.  She walked around in a pair of modest black sling-back kitten heels and carried her belongings in a padded Chanel purse with a long black strap that she clutched by her side.  Powerboat racer and Italian businessman Stefano Casiraghi’s daughter joined other members of the monarchy and donned a showstopping black lace veil for the monumental engagement.  The veil was loosely placed on top of her chestnut brown hair and hung down around her face. It dramatically blew …

Watch Jazzy Spies: 1969 Psychedelic Sesame Street Animation, Featuring Grace Slick, Teaches Kids to Count

When asked for their favorite Sesame Street segment, many children of the 70s and 80s point to Pinball Number Count. Psychedelic animation, the Pointer Sisters, odd time signatures—what’s not to love? But for the serious Sesame Street buff, the “Jazz Numbers” series above deserves the silver medal. It’s got free jazz, Yellow Submarine-style surrealistic animation, and a vocal from Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane. How many young parents recognized her distinctive voice, I wonder? Also known as “Jazzy Spies,” this 1969 series of animations was devoted to the numbers 2 through 10 (there was no film for “one” as it is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do), and was an essential element in Sesame Street’s first season. Highlights include the dream-like elevator door sequence of “2,” the Jackson 5 reference in “5,” and the racing fans in “10.” Slick got involved through her first husband, Jerry Slick, who produced the segments for San Francisco-based animation studio Imagination, Inc. Headed by animator Jeff Hale, the company also produced the Pinball segments, as well as the famous …

Grace Ives, Girlfriend review – New York indie-rocker sounds braver than ever

Grace Ives, Girlfriend review – New York indie-rocker sounds braver than ever

Get the inside track from Roisin O’Connor with our free weekly music newsletter Now Hear This Get our free music newsletter Now Hear This Get our free music newsletter Now Hear This “Baby, It was quite the scene when I drank… I tanked,” sings Grace Ives on her third album, Girlfriend. It’s a record that sees New York’s indie darling unpack the mess of her drinking years over her trademark jingly-jangly synth-pop sounds. Whispered confessions of shame, reckless yelps of denial and the yearning for a fresh start jostle with giddy crescendos of elegant strings, burbling keyboards, wonky samples and prettily plucked acoustic guitars. Imagine an AA meeting in which a motley crew of participants express themselves with a Roland MC-505 and you’re about there. Endearingly – and in keeping with Ives’s need for direct communication – she wrote her own press release to accompany the record. In it, she tells us that Girlfriend is this story of a “crash out” that ended in “hospital bills galore”. ”I fell down stairs,” she writes. “I called …
