A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a fellow teenager in Hackney, north east London. Brayan David Saldarriaga was fatally stabbed last Monday (May 25), with police called to reports of a large gathering, disorder and sightings of individuals in possession of machetes in Towpath Walk at 7.17pm. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance to find Brayan in Poplar Close with stab wounds. Despite efforts from the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, was charged on Friday (May 29) with murder and possession of a bladed article. He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court today (May 30). Brayan’s next-of-kin continue to receive support from specialist officers.
