I uploaded my motherboard manual to NotebookLM, and it solved my biggest PC troubleshooting headache

If you’ve ever encountered an issue with your PC, you already know how much of a bear it can be to try to figure out what’s going wrong with it. I’ve had my particular build for roughly 5 years, and while I’ve spent plenty of time upgrading it, I still run into issues here and there with it. Technology is great when it works. While I’m late to join the AI bandwagon, I’ve learned that NotebookLM is a genuinely helpful tool, especially for someone like myself who is eager to learn more about what makes their PC tick. There’s not enough time in the world to learn every little thing about your computer, and I’ve learned that NotebookLM is the perfect addition to my deep-dives, even if I still need to occasionally check my work. Ask and receive Need to find out where something is in the manual? Just ask it While I’ve upgraded many of the parts that are in my PC, I’m still using the original motherboard that I’ve had since 2020. My …

Teen’s headache before death in suspected holiday park carbon monoxide poisoning | UK News

A teenage girl complained that she had a headache before she died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning alongside her boyfriend, an inquest has heard. Cherish Bean, 15, and Ethan Slater, 17, died in a cabin at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast last month. Four people who are “associated with the management and maintenance” of the holiday park have been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter before being interviewed and bailed, police said. An inquest into the couple’s deaths heard on Tuesday that the teenagers had been on a family holiday and were “fit and well” when they went to bed on 17 February. Pic: Humberside Police/PA After spending the evening together as a family, Cherish retired to a smaller cabin, known as the “Mancave”, where she stayed with Ethan, at about 9pm to watch television. Cherish returned to the main cabin saying that she had a headache and took some Calpol because the family had no paracetamol, the inquest at Hull Coroner’s Court …

Trump’s strikes on Iran give Meloni a headache before Italy’s crunch referendum – POLITICO

Trump’s strikes on Iran give Meloni a headache before Italy’s crunch referendum – POLITICO

That hostility toward the U.S. president, as well as fears over the impact of the war on household bills, means Meloni is now treading a tightrope, avoiding criticizing her powerful ally in the White House while reassuring voters that Rome will not be dragged into the war. In a political compromise, Meloni on Thursday pledged air-defense support to Gulf states hit by retaliatory fire from Iran, and her defense minister said Italy would send “naval assets” to protect Cyprus. She is simultaneously insisting, however, that Italy will not give direct support to the U.S.-Israeli war against Tehran, and notes that U.S. bases in Italy are authorized only to offer logistical support, not to conduct offensive operations. “We’re not at war; we don’t want to go to war,” she told RTL radio on Thursday. This balancing act over Iran could hardly come at a worse time for Meloni. Polls now suggest the referendum is too close to call, and that much will depend on the turnout. Should she lose, it would be a major set-back for …

Netflix Just Avoided an Million Headache

Netflix Just Avoided an $80 Million Headache

When the news broke yesterday that Netflix had dropped out of the monthslong bidding war to control Warner Bros. Discovery—including its massive film library, range of TV networks, and news empire—the streamer’s stock immediately jumped. It was a curious market reaction, but one that seemed to reflect the deep mistrust that Netflix’s investors, and much of the media industry at large, had about the proposed deal. The company has built up huge profits and a gigantic market share partly by avoiding businesses such as movie theaters, cable television, and 24-hour news channels. Why would it suddenly be interested in them? We may never know what Netflix had planned to do with Warner Bros. Discovery, a conglomeration that houses movie-production companies, HBO, DC Comics, CNN, and various other cable properties, such as Discovery Channel. (In its deal structure, Netflix was going to purchase HBO and the Warner Bros. film studios, while WBD would spin off the less-profitable linear cable networks separately.) But the combination of Netflix’s streaming assets with the HBO Max platform’s prestigious offerings, for …

Nintendo Profit Misses As Soaring Memory Prices Could Become Major Headache

Nintendo Profit Misses As Soaring Memory Prices Could Become Major Headache

Dark storm clouds have gathered over Nintendo since the start of December, as investor concerns mount over tariffs, rising memory prices, and chatter about soft US holiday sales. The stock in Tokyo remains about one-third below its August peak. Earnings on Tuesday reconfirmed the gloom after Nintendo reported third-quarter operating income that missed the average Wall Street estimate tracked by Bloomberg. Switch 2 sold 7.01 million units in the December quarter, beating Bloomberg Consensus estimates, but the operating income of 155.21 billion yen, versus the 180.7 billion expected, raised investor concern. Trade tariffs, combined with rising component costs, especially the explosion in the price of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), are pressuring thin hardware margins for the electronics company. Goldman analyst Maho Kamiya warned clients in late Decemeber that concerns about rising memory prices and the absence of top-down tailwinds have sent Nintendo shares spiraling. The stock has yet to recover since the warning… We have outlined a growing list of electronics companies pressured by soaring memory prices, even prompting industry insiders to tell consumers that front-running …

Oxidative Stress: What a Headache!

Oxidative Stress: What a Headache!

Everybody knows that stress gives you a headache. Everybody knows that a lack of sleep gives you a headache. In fact, everybody knows that drinking wine, skipping a meal, and studying too hard for a test can give you a headache. But why? There’s no easy answer to this question, and the true answer likely includes multiple factors. People with migraine likely have genetic differences that lower pain thresholds and increase the likelihood of having migraine attacks. People with migraine are also more likely to have had early childhood trauma and high-stress times in their lives, which could change how their brains interact with their environment. However, oxidative stress may play an important role in lowering the threshold for triggering migraine attacks, making it easier for migraine attacks to happen more often. Part of healthy cell functioning is producing by-products of cell metabolism called reactive oxygen species. Normally, these oxygen species are immediately neutralized by antioxidants that naturally occur in our brains. But in certain situations, the cells in our brains produce too much of …

RAC warns drivers to check one thing today or face new year headache

The RAC is warning drivers to make sure their first day back in work after the Christmas break is not a case of what it has coined the ‘flat battery blues’ on ‘back to reality day’. It says the first day of the first working week after New Year is “notorious” for vehicle breakdowns. That’s because thousands of cars have been left idle over the holiday period, leading to older, weaker batteries slowly draining to zero and failing. The RAC says it is expected to be especially problematic this year given colder temperatures which will “test the chemical reaction of car batteries to the limit.” RAC mobile servicing and repairs team leader Nick Mullender said: “A flat battery at the start of the new year is more than enough to drain away the last of the Christmas spirit. “If you’re one of the millions of drivers taking to the roads on Monday, make sure you’ve given your car a really good run in the days beforehand, even if it’s just to fill up with fuel. …
