U.K. TV giant ITV, led by CEO Carolyn McCall, provided a first-quarter 2026 trading update early in the morning, along with an update on a potential big transaction. “Following our announcement in November 2025, we remain in active discussions with Sky regarding a possible sale of the media & entertainment (M&E) business,” the company said. “We will update the market in due course.” The M&E business includes ITV’s commercial free-to-air TV channels in the U.K., as well as its ITVX streaming platform. After a potential deal, ITV Studios would continue as a standalone company. ITV Studios revenue rose 4 percent in the first quarter, while M&E revenue fell 2 percent, with total advertising revenue (TAR) down 1.5 percent, ITV reported on Thursday. Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, the well-known medic spoke glowingly about the health service’s newly introduced pembrolizumab jab. The rollout of the jab has been described as “revolutionary”. It is a new immunotherapy injection that is set to benefit patients suffering from 14 different types of cancer. The 1 Percent Club has been renewed for another three years. ITV has confirmed the future of the award winning game show, confirming more specials for the hit series, which will continue to be hosted by Not Going Out star Lee Mack. In a statement, the comedian said: “I’m delighted that ITV have given us three more series to discover Great British clever clogs. “I just told my family how old I would be when these three series are over, but apparently I got it wrong. Which shows you how well I’d do as a contestant.” The show has 100 contestants all attempting to answer tough questions which increase in difficulty. At the end of each episode, they’re faced with a final question that only 1 percent of the public should be able to answer correctly.
