“You’d Be Justified In Shooting”: Rep. Jerry Nadler Triggers Outcry Over Violent Rhetoric Against ICE

“You’d Be Justified In Shooting”: Rep. Jerry Nadler Triggers Outcry Over Violent Rhetoric Against ICE

Authored by Jonathan Turley, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D., NY) is under fire this week for joining other Democratic members in reckless rhetoric to fuel the growing threats against federal law enforcement officers. Calling out the “fascism in our streets,” Nadler suggested that citizens could be justified in shooting masked agents, a chilling claim made earlier by other Democratic leaders. The New York Post reported the comments made in a Judiciary Committee hearing. Nadler declared: “What is really the major problem in this country today is the fascism in our streets. The attacks on American citizens, by masked hoodlums. If you were attacked by a masked person, you might think you were being kidnapped. You’d be justified in shooting the person — to protect yourself.” The agents are wearing masks because different groups are actively publishing their identities and personal information online. The result has not only been doxxing but threats made against the families of these agents. Democratic politicians have pledged to assist in the effort to “unmask” and publish the identities of these officers as threats soar. For …

Jerry Hall, 69, twins with lookalike daughter at Berlin Fashion Week

Jerry Hall proved once again that style really does run in the family as she stepped out with her lookalike daughter Elizabeth Jagger at Berlin Fashion Week – and the resemblance was impossible to miss. The mother-daughter duo attended the Marc Cain Autumn/Winter 2026 show, titled Echo of Now, at Funkhaus Berlin on January 30 2026, where they coordinated in polished, fashion-week-ready looks that felt both classic and modern.  © Getty Images for Marc CainJerry and Elizabeth during the Marc Cain fashion show “Echo Of Now” Jerry opted for a jewel-toned emerald ensemble, pairing fluid tailored trousers with a matching satin top and a cream coat draped effortlessly over her shoulders. Elizabeth complemented her mother in a soft lilac mini dress layered beneath a crisp ivory coat, finishing the look with pointed heels and softly waved hair.  Standing side by side, their similar smiles, colouring and easy confidence made them look more like sisters than mother and daughter. © dpa/picture alliance via Getty IThe pair were all smiles at Berlin Fashion Week Jerry has long …

Why Jerry Seinfeld Lives by the Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius

Having previously considered whether comedians are the philosophers of our time, we must now ask whether they, too, build upon the work of other philosophers. Few of today’s most prominent funny men and women live a philosophical life — or have cultivated the temperament necessary to live a philosophical life — more publicly than Jerry Seinfeld. This has been suggested by, among other things, a 2012 New York Times Magazine profile by Jonah Weiner. “Seinfeld will nurse a single joke for years, amending, abridging and reworking it incrementally, to get the thing just so,” writes Weiner. “It’s similar to calligraphy or samurai,” Seinfeld says. “I want to make cricket cages. You know those Japanese cricket cages? Tiny, with the doors? That’s it for me: solitude and precision, refining a tiny thing for the sake of it.” Or, as Seinfeld puts it in the more recent interview above with podcaster Graham Bensiger, he wants to know what time it is, but he wants even more to take the watch apart in order to learn how it works. …
