Giants’ Matt Chapman Joins Select SF Baseball Company, Including Willie Mays, With 8 RBIs in Win

CHICAGO (AP) — Matt Chapman joined some select San Francisco baseball company — including Willie Mays — with his massive day at the plate on Friday. The 33-year-old third baseman hit his fourth career grand slam, a three-run homer and added a sacrifice fly to finish with a career-high eight RBIs in the Giants’ 18-3 rout of the slumping Chicago Cubs. The eight RBIs tied the Giants’ San Francisco-era individual game record, shared by five others. The first to do it after the team relocated from New York in 1958 was Mays in on April 30, 1961. The other Giants to accomplish the feat were Orlando Cepeda (July 1961), Brandon Crawford (July 2019), Joc Pederson (May 2020) and Wilmer Flores (May 2025). “I feel like I’ve been doing a good job with runners in scoring position and I’ve been having a lot of opportunities with guys on base,” said Chapman, in his 10th major league season and third with the Giants. Chapman hit his slam in San Francisco’s six-run fourth — and in a light …

AI joins the quest to find new treatments for rare neuromuscular diseases

AI joins the quest to find new treatments for rare neuromuscular diseases

Rare neuromuscular diseases often lack treatments because developing targeted drugs is slow, costly and risky for companies. A new approach using AI and stem cell models could finally shift the balance. Belgian AI company Kantify was doing business as usual until a cancer diagnosis forced the team to rethink their direction. “We built algorithms for sectors like marketing or transport,” said Ségolène Martin, Kantify’s co-founder and CEO. “Those were complex projects that had nothing to do with health, but they enabled us to build a deep expertise in AI.” That changed in 2017, when Nik Subramanian, the company’s CTO, was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that forms tumours in connective tissues such as bones, muscles and blood vessels. This experience prompted the company to shift its focus to health and explore the potential of AI to help improve how new drugs for rare diseases are identified and tested. “It changed our lives,” said Martin. “We are now completely focused on AI for human health, and have developed a specialised technology for AI-based drug discovery.” …

SQL query logs hold the context AI agents need to stop hallucinating joins

SQL query logs hold the context AI agents need to stop hallucinating joins

When Miro’s data team pointed AI agents directly at its Snowflake environment, the agents got the wrong answer more than 65% of the time. The problem wasn’t the model — it was context. With more than 10,000 tables and no semantic layer to guide routing, the agents had no way to know which data assets matched which business questions. DataHub is releasing a context intelligence layer Thursday that mines existing SQL query history to build a semantic index — and exposes it to agents via MCP, LangChain, Google’s Agent Development Kit and CrewAI. The company calls it Context Intelligence, and it’s built on the same query-log infrastructure DataHub has used for lineage tracking in production deployments worldwide. The company was founded by the team that built DataHub as an open source project at LinkedIn, where co-founder and CTO Shirshanka Das led data infrastructure for nearly 11 years. The open source project now has more than 15,000 contributors and 3,000 production deployments worldwide. “For the first time, enterprises can turn years of analyst query history into …

Norway joins France’s nuclear deterrence club – POLITICO

Norway joins France’s nuclear deterrence club – POLITICO

“Russia’s largest nuclear arsenal is located in the High North, just a few kilometers from Norway,” he said, adding that Norway would continue to primarily rely on NATO for its security. On March 2, the French president announced that Germany, Poland, Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden had agreed to discuss nuclear cooperation with Paris. That could include joint nuclear drills, information sharing and, ultimately, the potential temporary deployment of French nuclear-capable Rafale fighter jets in allied countries — a concept the French called “forward nuclear deterrence.” Since then, highly classified talks about exactly what the cooperation will entail have already begun with some nations, two officials told POLITICO. On Wednesday, Paris and Oslo also signed a wide-ranging bilateral defense and security deal — dubbed the Narvik agreement — that includes a mutual assistance clause, more dialogue between their armed forces and cooperation on air defense, space and Arctic security, Macron said. In the past few years, the French president has sought to increase his country’s defense ties with Nordic countries, including Denmark, Finland …

SK Hynix Joins Trillion Dollar Club As Korean Stocks Echo Nasdaq’s 1999 Meltup

The breathtaking rally in South Korean stocks hit a couple of key milestones overnight. The benchmark Kospi index at one point in the session was up 100% for 2026, rivaling the Nasdaq 100 Index’s 102% surge in 1999 – right before the bubble burst… Samsung (005930) was up 2.7% and SK Hynix (000660) soared 9.3% rallying to new record highs mainly on three things: 1) overnight backdrop of SOX +5.5% driven by MU +19% strength, 2) launch of leveraged ETF instruments including 14 products that track 2x the return, and 2 inverse products that track -2x the return of SEC(005930) and SK HYNIX(000660), and 3) reports of SEC’s union members voting in favor of a compensation deal and separately, that SK Hynix is making efforts to strengthen its long-term supply agreements via more favorable terms such as higher prepayment and ultra-long tenors of five years or more. Flow-wise, foreigners extended their net-selling streak in SK HYNIX to 14 consecutive days, selling -$156mn today, while they’ve also ended as marginal net sellers in SEC (-$54mn). Local …
