An Algerian court has cleared the way for a potential presidential pardon of detained French journalist Christophe Gleizes, after rejecting prosecutors’ appeal for a harsher sentence and formally noting the withdrawal of the defendant’s own appeal, his lawyers said Wednesday. The court is Algeria’s highest court of appeal.
