Karoline Leavitt to work for Trump-affiliated super PAC after leaving White House

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt will work for President Donald Trump’s super PAC MAGA Inc. after she leaves her post at the White House, she said Friday. Leavitt, 28, told reporters aboard Air Force One that she will return to work for the super PAC, for which she served as a spokesperson before joining Trump’s 2024 campaign, though she did not specify what her new title will be. MAGA Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Leavitt’s new role. Speaking briefly in the press cabin before takeoff, Leavitt told reporters that she will miss the job “but I love my kids even more.” Leavitt added that she and her family will remain in Washington for a while, telling reporters, “You guys will still see me all the time.” She told reporters that Friday’s flight to South Carolina for a rally supporting Sen. Darline Graham will be her last trip as press secretary, but that she’ll be back on board for the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10. …

Trump says Karoline Leavitt resigning as White House press secretary

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave that post by the end of August, President Donald Trump said on Wednesday. Leavitt’s departure was announced less than a month after she returned to the White House after having been on maternity leave for the birth of her daughter on May 1. Leavitt, 28, is resigning “so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump said in a Truth Social post announcing her planned departure. The president said that Leavitt will become “one of my top outside advisors” and work with the Republican Party to win the upcoming midterm elections in November. Trump’s spokesperson Karoline Leavitt to step down

Trump’s spokesperson Karoline Leavitt to step down

Leavitt is a Trump veteran who served in his press office during his first term, which ended in 2021, and then as his spokesperson during his 2024 election campaign. Her tenure as press secretary saw a revival of regular briefings that had petered out during the first term, but she presided over a sea change in White House interactions with journalists. In February 2025, she stunned the press corps when she announced that the White House itself – and not an independent association of correspondents – would choose which reporters got to cover Trump up close in the Oval Office and on Air Force One. She also facilitated press credentials from right-wing, pro-Trump media outlets, diluting the presence of traditional news media that tend to ask more challenging questions in the briefing room. Raised in New Hampshire, where her family ran an ice cream shop, Leavitt sent a letter to her university newspaper in 2017 to protest against the fact that a professor had criticised Trump in class. After Trump’s 2020 election loss, she unsuccessfully …

Karoline Leavitt is leaving her post as White House press secretary

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that one of his “most trusted” aides is leaving his administration at the end of the month. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, 28, the youngest person to hold the role, has been one of the biggest and most controversial mouthpieces for the president, describing Democrats as “terrorists,” making “your mom” jokes and organizing a White House “media offender” list. Leavitt is leaving “so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump wrote on his social media site Truth Social. “Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.” In May, Leavitt took time off from work for the birth of her daughter. She also has a two-year-old son. She entered politics soon after graduating and in June 2020 became an assistant White House press secretary. After Trump lost the election, Leavitt campaigned for House of Representatives …
