9 Best Face Sunscreens Our Editors Tested and Loved in 2026

9 Best Face Sunscreens Our Editors Tested and Loved in 2026

Face Sunscreen vs. Body Sunscreen: The difference between face sunscreen and body sunscreen is roughly analogous to the difference between face wash and body wash. The sensitive skin of your face requires a gentler formula than that of the body, and should be formulated to be mindful of things like acne, anti-aging efforts, oil accumulation and sensitive areas around the eyes. Face sunscreens are often oil-free to prevent clogged pores and aggressive sweating, as well as fragrance-free to prevent redness and irritation. Body sunscreens, on the other hand, don’t usually take the same precautions, so they’re packaged in bigger containers with just the necessary ingredients. Many products are dual-purpose, though, and can be applied to the face and body: “A body sunscreen can be safe for facial use if it is non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores), free of heavy fragrances, and formulated for sensitive skin,” says Sangvhi. “Check for labels indicating it’s suitable for use on the face or for sensitive skin.” Face Sunscreen vs SPF Moisturizer: So, what is the difference between a face sunscreen …

Poetry, eye cream and a bedtime neck massage: 12 things you loved most in March | Life and style

March claims to be spring – and some of it even reckons it’s British summertime – but even the sunniest days are “summer in the sunshine, winter in the shade”. Judging by the products you loved most, you haven’t decided whether to emerge from hibernation yet, either. The Guardian’s journalism is independent. Pillows and bed socks accounted for a quarter of all your favourite things this month, and your fashion must-have was a snuggly hoodie. But your enthusiasm for a glow-up eye cream and a legendary hot brush suggests you’re harbouring an itch to get out. The best bargain gnocchi Rummo gnocchi di patate, 500g £6.50 at Amazon Chef Tom Hunt was appalled by the UPF content of many of the products he tested for our guide to the best supermarket gnocchi, but his “best bargain” gnocchi proved relatively low on processed ingredients. “A firm, squishy and familiar texture, but a slightly sour flavour,” wrote Tom of these dinky potatoey pillows, …

7 Space Movies to Watch if you Loved ‘Project Hail Mary’

7 Space Movies to Watch if you Loved ‘Project Hail Mary’

Now the highest-grossing movie of the year, Project Hail Mary is the latest in a long line of lonely space movies to isolate a megastar—in this case, Ryan Gosling—on a distant spaceship. Every guy wants to be an astronaut growing up. But at some point, usually around the time we start recognizing our own mortality, the appeal really wears off, and the vastness of the cosmos begins to engender existential terror more than it excites us. It can’t get much lonelier than drifting among the stars, hence why loneliness and isolation have been go-to themes of space movies since time immemorial. Project Hail Mary is very much the Ryan Gosling show, with the actor taking up 90% of the film’s screen time; never a bad thing with someone who is so charismatic and enjoyable to watch. He awakens on his spaceship with no memory as to why he’s there, and we learn alongside him about the bizarre circumstances that led him to take part in his lonely mission to the stars. (No spoilers.) When he …

Iranians mark Persian new year with heavy hearts as war cuts contact with loved ones

Iranians mark Persian new year with heavy hearts as war cuts contact with loved ones

PARIS (AP) — When Iran erupted in nationwide protests at the end of 2025, Shayan Ghadimi’s mother returned to the country from Paris to see the uprising for herself. Her absence — and the struggle to stay in touch through the bloody crackdown that followed and now the Iran war — hang over the family. Like many Iranians outside the country, they will mark the normally festive Persian new year, known as Nowruz, with heavy hearts — or not at all. Ghadimi’s 70-year-old mother had watched the early protests on TV. “We could see the market closed, the people in the street. She said, ‘I want to be there,’” the 41-year-old Ghadimi said of her mother, as she prepared to serve lunches in the spice-scented restaurant she runs in Paris. “Now, she is all alone … with no way to stay in contact, watching the sky. I cannot imagine the state she is in,” Ghadimi said. An Iranian cultural center in Paris that organizes music events for Nowruz says it’s in mourning. In the United …
