I took a trip on the iconic, royal-approved British Pullman train – did it live up to its luxurious reputation?

If it’s good enough for the late Queen Elizabeth II, it’s good enough for me. Not something I’d ever said until I boarded the British Pullman – a train with impressive royal links. It’s so posh that it comes with a full name as long as one in an aristocratic wedding announcement: British Pullman, a Belmond Train, England. But these days, it transports less regal passengers (like me) on journeys through the British countryside from London Victoria, bound for the genteel cities of Bath or Oxford, Kent’s wineries or its best beach at Broadstairs, or just a slap-up Sunday lunch or afternoon tea onboard. Days out don’t get much more spoiling, which is why I decided to treat my mum to a trip to Bath. And, though Victoria’s concourse may not conjure regal splendour, the experience started as soon as we reached platform one. Guests in Ascot-worthy dresses and smart suits milled about or sipped sparkling wine in the train’s private lounge while a singer crooned breezy jazz standards over the station’s announcements.   © …

These Are the Most Luxurious Air Jordans of 2026

These Are the Most Luxurious Air Jordans of 2026

Before the sneaker resale era truly kicked into high gear, before The Last Dance rekindled Air Jordan Mania, before Travis Scott or Virgil Abloh or Dior or A Ma Maniére collaborated on Js, there was Bin 23. Launched in 2010 as Jordan Brand’s most premium offering, the line was inspired by Michael Jordan’s taste for fine wines—the name is a nod to the winemaking process—and reinterpreted classic Air Jordans through a luxurious lens. We’re talking lush suedes and croc-embossed leathers, cedar shoe trees, and premium packaging, with each model made in small, numbered batches. Before the project was put on pause in 2011, just five silhouettes got the Bin 23 treatment: the 5, 2, 13, 7, and 9. Those shoes still command a premium on the resale market due to their scarcity. Over 15 years after Bin 23’s original run, the brand brought the initiative back with a burgundy Air Jordan 3 at this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend. And this week, another Air Jordan model joins the opulent lineup. The first-ever Bin 23 Air Jordan …

This J-beauty cream broke the internet – and now midlife women can’t get enough off its ‘incredibly luxurious’ glow

Sugar review – Colin Farrell’s detective show is a luxurious labyrinth of noir | Television

Sugar review – Colin Farrell’s detective show is a luxurious labyrinth of noir | Television

Getting a TV show made isn’t easy. OK, so you’ve got an interesting idea and some good scripts – but a network or streaming platform will have many further questions. How much will it cost to make, which age/demographic will enjoy it, can it be distilled in a grabby one-line summary, could it recoup investment by running to multiple seasons? Nobody’s going to take a punt on your kooky pet project and risk losing money. At least that’s the theory, but Apple TV seems happy to commission shows having ticked none of the above boxes. Pound for pound – that is, ignoring the overwhelming volume of Netflix shows – it’s probably the best streamer in the game, having gambled and won on Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, The Studio, For All Mankind and Widow’s Bay. But it also has a stable of oddball charmers that work in a moseying sort of way – Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed and Margo’s Got Money Troubles being two recent ones – and a slew of baffling misfires like Government Cheese …

This Luxurious Asics Sneaker Collab Is a Minimalist’s Dream

This Luxurious Asics Sneaker Collab Is a Minimalist’s Dream

Asics knows its lane. The Japanese sportswear label has made its bones on techy performance runners, often with mesh uppers and reflective detailing, and many of its best sneaker collaborations are built on that foundation: JJJJound made perhaps the ultimate version of the 2000s-era Gel-Kayano 14; Thom Browne recently put his signature sartorial touch on the same model; and Kiko Kostandinov often offers up a freaky, futuristic spin on Asics’s bread-and-butter aesthetic. Which is why the brand’s latest linkup with the London minimalists at Studio Nicholson feels like such a massive departure. Where the duo’s first collab—2024’s blacked-out iteration of the Gel-Quantum 360 VIII—hewed more closely to the standard Asics formula, this one heads ambitiously in a brand-new direction. Built on the Gel-Kinetic SP, with its bulbous, HR Giger-esque soles, Studio Nicholson has fully reimagined the silhouette’s uppers in smooth monotone suede with a zip closure running up the center. The World’s Most Luxurious Foldable Phone Is Here for the 1%

The World’s Most Luxurious Foldable Phone Is Here for the 1%

If you thought Samsung’s $2,000 Galaxy Z Fold 7 is cheap, ugly and only fit for use by peasants with only four or five bedrooms in their house, then luxury-phone maker Vertu has the foldable phone for you. The Alphafold, as the company’s newest device is called, uses materials like calf skin, alligator skin, 24 karat gold and, sure, actual diamonds in its construction — and it starts at a mere $6,880.  Still too cheap and nasty for you? That’s fine, Vertu offers a complete customization service with pricing being “effectively uncapped.” Some of the company’s bespoke projects for the ultrarich have had six figure price tags attached. It sure puts the $800 Motorola Razr to shame.  Alligator skin and real gold? No problem here! Vertu So what do you get for all that money? Well, much of it goes on whatever wild materials you want Vertu to use on your phone. Each unit is made mostly to order and built by hand according to the specifications you’ve requested.  The Alphafold is a book-style foldable, …

This Instant-Classic Watch Is Back With Two Luxurious Sequels

This Instant-Classic Watch Is Back With Two Luxurious Sequels

It normally requires decades for a watch to be considered a true classic. Great timepieces typically come with great stories—like a beloved actor wearing one for years, a historical technical breakthrough, or adventurers sporting them at Everest’s peak or even on the moon. Even when the big boys of the Swiss watch industry put out brand-new models, it usually takes a couple of release cycles for them to fully break through. But when Zenith debuted its G.F.J. model last April, something different happened: Everyone seemed to take one look at it and go, “Yeah, that’s a freaking sick watch.” I said it myself the moment I held the model, with its cool-toned lapis lazuli dial, in my hands at last year’s Watches and Wonders. In the months since, the G.F.J. has racked up impressive industry awards and a sizable waiting list. Now, Zenith is unveiling two glamorous sequels. In March, I got to spend a few precious hours with the most mysterious G.F.J. yet: a new variant with a tantalum case and smoky onyx dial. …

Why roses remain skincare’s most luxurious power ingredient

Why roses remain skincare’s most luxurious power ingredient

Beyond its fragrance, roses are rich in bioactive compounds including antioxidants and essential lipids that help hydrate, soothe and protect the skin. Several rose-derived ingredients are widely used in skincare today: Rose essential oil, distilled from rose petals and valued for its antioxidant properties Rose water, the aromatic water produced during distillation, known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory effects Rosehip oil and extracts, derived from the fruit of the rose plant and rich in essential fatty acids, pro-vitamin A and vitamin C that help address pigmentation and visible signs of ageing While roses have long been prized for their calming and hydrating properties, advances in extraction technology have introduced new actives such as rose stem cells and rose-derived PDRN, increasingly used in high-performance skincare. One of the latest developments is rose PDRN, a vegan-friendly alternative to the traditional salmon-derived ingredient used in regenerative skincare. Extracted from the stem cells of the Damascus rose, it is designed to mimic skin-repair signals that stimulate cellular renewal, improve elasticity and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier. Some studies also …
