Kate Middleton looks sombre as she makes solo Anzac Day appearance in London – live updates

The Princess of Wales made a solo appearance on Saturday to mark Anzac Day, an important time to commemorate all Australians and New Zealanders who have lost their lives in conflict and to recognise all those who have served. Kate, wearing a navy coat dress, looked sombre and pensive as she arrived at the Cenotaph in central London to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony and parade. She was not joined by other members of the royal family, although Princess Anne had attended the dawn service at Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner in the early hours of the morning. After she laid her wreath on behalf of her father-in-law King Charles, Kate walked to Westminster Abbey, where she also attended the service of commemoration and thanksgiving. Anzac Day has been observed in London since King George V attended the first service at Westminster Abbey in 1916 to mark the anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli. Since then, it has become a time to honour Australians and New Zealanders who have died in conflict. Anzac Day is …

Kate Middleton Pays Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in a Rarely Seen Piece of Heirloom Jewelry

The royals have carried out a number of engagements to mark a century since the birth of the Queen, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, on April 21, 2026. The celebrations started n Monday evening when King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style, the landmark exhibition being staged at the King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace. They were joined for the private tour by the King’s much-loved cousin, Lady Sarah Chatto, daughter of Princess Margaret. At midnight, Buckingham Palace released a moving speech by His Majesty, who acknowledged that, while his “darling mama” would have been “troubled deeply” by current affairs, viewers should follow in her example and “strive together towards a better, happier tomorrow—one rooted in peace, justice, prosperity and security.” The Princess of Wales meets guests at the party celebrating the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II Pool/Getty Images On Tuesday morning Princess Anne was in Regent’s Park to honor her mother, officially opening the two-acre Queen Elizabeth II Garden, designed as a site of quiet contemplation in the park. Kate Middleton seen sporting plaster following mystery injury

The Princess of Wales looked radiant at Tuesday’s Buckingham Palace reception, which honoured what would have been the late Queen’s 100th birthday. However, it appears that the royal was sporting a small injury as she arrived at the event, as she was seen with a plaster wrapped around her right thumb. Kate didn’t let this bother her, as she was seen interacting warmly with guests. It’s currently unclear how Kate picked up the small injury, however, she has previously been seen with plasters after injuries from playing with her children. During one moment at the reception, Kate was seen speaking with retired police officer Tony Gledhill, 88, who was awarded the George Cross in 2008 for subduing armed criminals in 1966. © Getty ImagesThe royal was seen with a plaster on her thumb In a moving moment, Kate leaned in to hug Tony, before gently holding both his hands as he appeared overwhelmed with gratitude. Why Kate Middleton, King Charles & more royals were forced to abruptly change schools

Why Kate Middleton, King Charles & more royals were forced to abruptly change schools

Royal education has changed dramatically over the past few generations alone, with traditional home tutors swapped for in-house teaching at local schools and universities. In Princess Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret’s case, they were the last generation of British royals to be taught behind palace walls, receiving lessons in the liberal arts, sciences, and language by governess Marion Crawford. Meanwhile, the late Queen’s eldest son, King Charles, was the first royal to embark on higher education, attending Trinity College in Cambridge from 1967 to 1970.  A handful of these changes have not been planned, however. Join us as we take a look at when royals have unexpectedly dropped out of schools, from the Princess of Wales fleeing bullies to Prince George moving across the country.  © Reg Burkett King Charles Buckingham Palace surprised royal fans when it announced that the then-eight-year-old Prince Charles would be swapping lessons with a private tutor for a school education as a day pupil at Hill House, starting in November 1956.
