The Princess of Wales is beginning a “global mission” this week as she returns to official international travel this week for the first time since her cancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales will be presented with the “Primo Tricolore” – Reggio Emilia’s highest honour – in recognition of her Early Years work, Hello can reveal. Kate will be given the green, white and red flag that inspired modern-day Italy’s national symbol during her stay in the northern Italian city this week. The Italian flag was first created in Reggio Emilia in 1797, long before the unification of Italy in 1861. The Princess of Wales recently confirmed that she and her family had welcomed a new puppy, Otto, into their lives. And during her appearance at a Buckingham Palace garden party, she shared a story that will be familiar to anyone with a pet pooch in their life. Speaking with a guest at the party, she revealed that the puppy had “chewed quite a lot the other day”. The royal then added: “You have to keep them busy. Kate Middleton is going to Italy for her first official trip abroad since her diagnosis and treatment for cancer in 2024. From May 13–14, the Princess of Wales will be in Reggio Emilia for a visit related to one of the causes closest to her heart: early childhood education. In 2021, the princess launched the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, a foundation dedicated to the study of the first five years of life. She will be representing the organization on this trip, where she intends to learn more about the “Reggio Emilia Approach,” an Italian educational philosophy which places relationships, environment and community at the center of a child’s development. She will meet with teachers, parents, children, administrators and representatives of the business community during her visit. “The Princess is very much looking forward to visiting Italy next week and seeing first-hand how the Reggio Emilia approach creates environments where nature and loving human relationships come together to support children’s development,” her spokesperson said in a statement. The Prince and Princess of Wales have broken tradition with a beautiful and intimate family portrait to celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary.  Prince William and Kate released a gorgeous photograph on the official Kensington Palace social media channels, marking a decade and a half since they tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on 29 April, 2011.  The picture featured the couple and their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Prince Louis, eight, lying on their backs on the grass.
