Neighbour leaves residents fuming after erecting 7ft-high ‘Berlin Wall’ boundary | UK | News

The vast boundary has been compared to the Berlin Wall by neighbours (Image: BNPS) A homeowner has enraged residents of an affluent neighbourhood after replacing a boundary fence with a vast concrete structure that “looks like the Berlin Wall”. Ken Lynch has had the 75ft-long grey wall constructed along the side of his detached home on Sandbanks Road in the sought-after Lilliput area of Poole, Dorset. The area, alongside its neighbour Sandbanks, are among the most expensive and exclusive seaside areas in the whole country, with average house prices starting at £700,000. The imposing structure stands over 7ft tall and has been branded an eyesore by locals, with some likening it to something straight out of the Soviet Union era. Before its transformation, the home was a charming bungalow with an attractive front garden and modest brick wall that allowed passers-by to enjoy its vibrant herbaceous borders. The previous owner secured planning permission to convert the bungalow into a two-storey house with a sizeable rear extension. The property is now valued at £1m. The house …

‘My Ring doorbell picks up my neighbour doing the same thing every week – it seems so rude’

A dog walker has been branded ‘rude’ by a neighbour due to their ‘complete lack of consideration’. They said they received regular Ring doorbell notifications which showed the pet weeing up their bin. As the matter was leaving them increasingly irritated, they questioned whether they should ‘say something’. READ MORE: ‘I have a Blue Badge but my neighbour still sent a passive aggressive note about parking’ The Mumsnet user said: “Every week when we put the bin out ready for collection, our Ring doorbell picks up the same neighbour who lives round the corner, letting their big a** dog p*** up our bin. “Would this bother you and would you say something?” They later added that it “just seems so rude” and it was “the smell” that bothered them, along with “the complete lack of consideration for other’s property”. One said: “No, and I don’t allow them to go on boundary shrubs or car tyres, either.” A second stated: “I have dogs and no I wouldn’t let them pee up against someone’s bin. “I would …

‘My neighbour watched me park – what she did next creeped me out’ | UK | News

Emily Potts and her partner after discovering the postcard (Image: Kennedy) A mum was left stunned after discovering a neighbour had apparently watched her park her car before taking what she describes as an unusual and “creepy” next step. Emily Potts had just returned from grabbing a coffee when she checked the post and found the bizarre message waiting for her. The 35-year-old later shared footage from her Ring doorbell showing the moment she opened the postcard and read it aloud to her partner in disbelief. The card, decorated with images of canals and historic buildings from Nantwich, Cheshire, contained a blunt complaint about her vehicle and the way it had been left on the street. It read: “would you consider parking your massive ugly car a bit less selfishly? Show some consideration for your neighbours”. The anonymous sender had even included a hand-drawn sketch attempting to demonstrate how Emily should — and should not — position her car. Man arrives home to find nightmare neighbour hacking down wisteria

A woman sentenced after destroying her neighbour’s wisteria and repeatedly striking her with a crutch breached a fresh restraining order before even leaving the courtroom. A judge issued the warning to Atidel Boutara Cook following her sentencing for the violent neighbourhood dispute. Boutara Cook was convicted of criminal damage and assault following an incident on December 17 last year. The court heard how she destroyed a flowering plant belonging to her upstairs neighbour, Pei Wong, before carrying out the physical attack. Despite the legal proceedings, the defendant violated the terms of her new court-ordered protection before the hearing had fully concluded. The breach occurred immediately after she was sentenced for the December confrontation involving her neighbour’s property and person. Boutara Cook called her neighbour of 20 years a “f****** bitch” and hit her once on the forehead and twice on the chest with her crutch after she was confronted about the plant, Highbury Magistrates’ Court was told previously. Ms Wong and her husband Louis Scott own the freehold of the Victorian house in Stanhope Gardens, …

Last words of killer who set neighbour on fire ‘this is not right’ | US | News

A death row killer who set his neighbour ablaze more than three decades ago delivered a protest against his death in his final words before execution. Chadwick Scott Willacy was administered a three-drug lethal injection today for the murder of Marlys Sather, who was set alight after returning home to discover the convicted criminal inside her property. Willacy, who had broken in during a chilling burglary, struck her over the head with a blunt object, fracturing her skull, before binding her hands and ankles with wire and tape. Convicted of first-degree murder, burglary, robbery and arson, Willacy spent 36 years on death row in Starke, Florida, before finally being executed today. The 58-year-old offered apologies to his own family and friends and urged his “brothers on the row” to remain strong, yet continued to protest his innocence, insisting he would never have killed his friend. Speaking moments before the lethal injection was administered, Willacy said: “To the victim’s family, I hope this brings you peace. If it does, that’s good. But this is not right.” …

Ecuador hikes tariffs to 100-percent in feud with neighbour Colombia | Government News

The government of Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa has surged its tariffs on the neighbouring country of Colombia to 100 percent, effective May 1. On Thursday, Ecuador’s Ministry of Production issued a statement blasting Colombia for failing to adequately address drug-trafficking and border security. Recommended Stories list of 3 itemsend of list It was the latest salvo in an ongoing cross-border dispute between the right-wing Noboa and his left-wing counterpart in Colombia, Gustavo Petro, who have been feuding for months. “After noting the lack of implementation of concrete and effective measures regarding border security on the part of Colombia, Ecuador is obliged to take sovereign actions,” the Ministry of Production wrote in its statement. It justified the tariff hike as a necessary incentive to “confront the presence of drug trafficking on the border”. “For Ecuador, security, as well as the fight against corruption and drug trafficking, are a non-negotiable priority,” the ministry said. “This measure reaffirms the country’s commitment to protecting its citizens and safeguarding the integrity of its territory.” Already, Noboa had slapped Colombia with …
