Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Cause a Stir With Knicks/Cavs Front Row Appearance

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Cause a Stir With Knicks/Cavs Front Row Appearance

Early in the game, cameras caught Kelce engaging in a fairly common basketball spectator practice: sipping a beer. But when the player realized he was on camera, he stood up and pounded the beverage, all to chants and cheers from the crowd. Taylor Swift reacted the way many might to such antics, covering her face with her hands in mix of laughter and embarrassment. But just for a moment: After that, the singer lifted her face and, looking at her partner, joined the audience in fervent applause. Alas, Kelce’s work to engage the crowd had little effect on the Cavaliers, a team that has struggled and failed to best the Knicks throughout the series. Game 3 was no exception, and as hopes of a win slipped away, Kelce shielded his face with his cap and shut his eyes, presumably trying to dream his way out of the situation. Swift watched him with amused concern, until he roused himself and the pair exchanged a kiss. The Cavaliers might have lost 121 to 108 on Saturday, but …

Timothée Chalamet Wore Kylie Jenner’s Clothes

Timothée Chalamet Wore Kylie Jenner’s Clothes

As his beloved Knicks continue to romp through the NBA playoffs,Timothée Chalamet has been stirring up some serious style noise from his courtside seat. There’s been his steady rotation of advanced streetwear and Chrome Hearts rarities—his look from Tuesday’s Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals elicited a “daddy” IG comment from Kylie Jenner—to say nothing of his much-discussed grooming evolution. But even between his Madison Square Garden appearances, the Oscar nominee still found his way into the menswear conversation. On Wednesday, Chalamet posted a mirror selfie dressed in a pretty typical off-duty summer fit: white tank top, beaded necklace, white Adidas Stan Smiths, and a blue-brimmed cap from Nahmias, the brand behind his mega-viral Marty Supreme jacket from last December. His one big swerve, however? A pair of frayed-hem, capri-length sweatpants from KHY, his partner Jenner’s clothing label. While KHY mainly specializes in womenswear, many of its offerings—including the “Venice” long shorts Timmy sported—are technically unisex, so this wasn’t quite the exercise in borrowing from the girls some internet onlookers made it out to …

The Definitive New York Knicks Celebrity Row Power Rankings

The Definitive New York Knicks Celebrity Row Power Rankings

When you’re rich and famous, New York City opens up to you. Dinner reservations, backstage at Saturday Night Live, box seats at the US Open, you name it. But one invite is intensely coveted, small in supply and high in demand—and subject to the whims of one single 71-year-old cable TV billionaire. That’s right, you apparently can’t sit courtside at the New York Knicks playoff games in Celebrity Row unless you are personally handpicked by owner James Dolan. Sure, you might be an A-list celebrity, but at Madison Square Garden, loyalty to the New York Knickerbockers is paramount to all other metrics. Look no further than Gen-X silver screen icon Ethan Hawke. He was a regular sitting courtside, openly trying to flirt with Rihanna, but once he started offering some constructive criticism of the front office, he found himself off the invite list. “I’ve been a Knicks fan for a long time, but I got kicked out of the Garden. They won’t give me tickets anymore. I was really vocal on some talk shows like …

Nike Dropped the Ultimate Knicks-Themed Air Force 1

Nike Dropped the Ultimate Knicks-Themed Air Force 1

Bing bong, baby. For the second year in a row, the New York Knicks are heading to the Eastern Conference Finals. One of the most storied franchises in the NBA has ascended from a decade-plus of utter hoops humiliation into rarified air. After sweeping the pesky Philadelphia 76ers in the conference semifinals, they’re on their way to face the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers-Detroit Pistons series for a shot at the Finals. The streets outside of Madison Square Garden are appropriately energized and have become a focal point off of the court during this playoff season. So it’s no surprise that when it came time to drop the latest colorway of their iconic Air Force One, Nike linked up with the kings of New York content creation: Sidetalk NYC. Sidetalk was launched in 2019 by Trent Simonian and Jack Byrne, both of whom were NYU freshmen at the time. They utilized a man-on-the-street approach to showcasing some of the city’s most colorful characters, and soon found their show shaping social media jargon across the internet. …

The Best Place for Spotting Grail Watches Is Courtside at a Knicks Game

The Best Place for Spotting Grail Watches Is Courtside at a Knicks Game

It’s gotten too easy for the New York Knicks lately. While the Atlanta Hawks may have offered a jump scare or two in round one of the NBA playoffs, the Knickerbockers are cruising through their second-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. And while other cities, particularly the Los Angeles Lakers, used to put up a competitive fight when it came to celebrity rows, Manhattan’s team is now the undisputed heavyweight champ of putting famous butts in seats. What makes them the most powerful courtside in the NBA right now? It might be the watches. Even when the LA arena formerly known as Staples Center was kicking, this wasn’t really a fair fight. Jack Nicholson, the Lakers’ A-listiest fan, preferred a Timex Easy Reader, which is cool in a subverting-expectations kinda way but can’t exactly hold up against a special-edition Rolex Daytona. Together, recent Knicks’ game attendees Jay-Z, Timothée Chalamet, Spike Lee, and Tracy Morgan combined to make the horological equivalent of the Avengers. Jay-Z’s Rolex Cosmograph Daytona “Le Mans” Jay-Z’s cache of world-beater watches is …

The Real-Life Diet of Josh Hart, Who Drinks 400 to 500 Milligrams of Caffeine Before a Game

The Real-Life Diet of Josh Hart, Who Drinks 400 to 500 Milligrams of Caffeine Before a Game

When watching New York Knicks shooting guard Josh Hart hustle for loose balls, corral crucial rebounds, and defend opposing scorers like his life depends on it, it’s easy to think, Wow, that guy plays like he’s on a caffeine high. Turns out, that’s exactly the case. Hart—who is partnered with C4 Energy, the emergent, zero-sugar energy drink—uses the canned performance fuel to get his mind and body ready for grueling battles at Madison Square Garden. The wily veteran is now in the midst of his fourth consecutive postseason run, which has pushed his NBA odometer well beyond many of his peers. Known for his hard-nosed, never-say-die playing style, Hart has also learned how to take the bumps and bruises that come with his bold presence on the court. Before the playoffs began, the 31-year-old sat down to give a behind-the-scenes look at his pregame dietary routine (or lack thereof), call out the young players in his orbit for their less-than-stellar health habits, and share his feelings on wearable fitness devices. GQ: When you’re this far …

Timothee Chalamet Ghosted the 2026 Met Gala. Here’s Why

Timothee Chalamet Ghosted the 2026 Met Gala. Here’s Why

Not long after the New York Knicks won their first-round series in historic fashion last week, the question arose: Would Timothée Chalamet be in his usual courtside seat on Monday night—the first Monday in May—for Game 1 against the Philadelphia 76ers? Or would he make his long-awaited return to the Met Gala steps for the first time since 2021? Just like he did last year, the 30-year-old Oscar nominee made his loyalties clear. Chalamet, courtside. Al Bello/Getty Images Just as the hubbub on the Met red carpet was peaking, Chalamet was 50 blocks south, posting a photo in his Instagram Stories of his baby blue Adidas sneakers parked along the sidelines of Madison Square Garden. Rather than a sculptural look designed by his old pal Haider Ackermann, the Dune star sported a couple of middle-school staples: a rugby-striped long-sleeve tee and a sagging pair of light-wash jeans. His hair was moussed upward in a look my colleague Eileen Cartter likened to a Camp Rock-era Nick Jonas (or, as some fans pointed out, a younger Timothée …

How to Lose an NBA Playoff Game by 50 Points

How to Lose an NBA Playoff Game by 50 Points

On Thursday night, as the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks battled it out in Game 6 of their opening round playoff series, I was at an event in Downtown Manhattan for an author promoting his new book. About midway through, a guy sitting in front of me pulled out his phone, and the logos of each respective team caught my eye. What followed was maybe my first ever quadruple take, as the man’s screen read: KNICKS 72, HAWKS 22. “Hey, is that…real?” I asked, sheepishly tapping him on the shoulder. Surely I had fallen victim to some elaborate prank. Maybe there was a glitch in Google’s box score software. The Hawks being down by 50 points, with four minutes still left in the first half, seemed legitimately impossible. Factor in the circumstances of the game—the Hawks needed a win to keep their season alive, they were playing on their home court, and the series had been relatively competitive in the five games prior—and the deficit seemed even more unlikely. Sadly for the ever-tortured Atlanta …

Breaking Fast With Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Knicks Star Mo Diawara

Breaking Fast With Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Knicks Star Mo Diawara

“I just want it to be Mo and I for a few,” says New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. It’s just after 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, and the mayor is in the midst of another whirlwind day in office. He helped distribute food to hungry families at a pair of food banks in Queens early in the afternoon, stopped by a girls’ high school basketball championship game in Brooklyn, and then shuttled over to Harlem to meet up with New York Knicks forward Mo Diawara at a Senegalese spot called Saint Louis Restaurant Keur Yayou Dara. Mamdani and Diawara are here for their iftar, the fast-breaking meal taken after sundown during the month of Ramadan. Despite his towering 6’9” frame, currently draped in an inky leather jacket and black jeans, Diawara is just a 20-year-old rookie, still wide-eyed and new to New York after growing up in France in a close-knit Senegalese family. The private moment the mayor requests really just amounts to Mamdani passing the mic clipped to his suit jacket to an …

A Guide to Every Player Named Jalen in the NBA

A Guide to Every Player Named Jalen in the NBA

The three most important NBA phenomena of the 21st century are, in some order: the player empowerment era, the three-point revolution, and everyone being named some form of Jalen. The first refers to the labor-driven idea that players control the league, not the executives, leading to superstars voicing their displeasure and switching teams more often than ever. The second was born from simple mathematics, as players collectively realized that shooting three pointers gets you more points. The final one is the newest, and arguably the most noticeable. Put bluntly, there are hella professional basketball players named Jalen (or Jaylen, Jaylin, and even Jaylon). In fact, as of this writing, there are 15 different versions of that name all over NBA rosters, all of them younger than 30. This checks out, given larger societal trends. Per BabyCenter.com, the name Jalen peaked in popularity in the year 2000. The influx of baby Jalens in America eventually became adult Jalens in the NBA, some of whom are extremely nice with it. Five members of the Jalen/Jaylen/Jaylin/Jaylon cohort have …
