With the constant churn of content, of all the streamers out there, Netflix has become one of the most reliable when it comes to putting out consistent new media.
However, nothing is safe from the axe of the online giant, whether it’s a ratings smash getting cut before its time (think Mindhunter) or short-lived favorites that had a devoted fanbase (Anne with an E, you will always be famous).
Per Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, at their latest Upfront: “Netflix has always been the pioneer. The innovator. The company [is] willing to make big bets that no one else saw coming. We’ve dared to imagine things that have never been done before. And every time, it’s paid off.”
For these 15 shows, unfortunately, it did not pay off as planned. Here are 15 shows that we know so far have either been canceled this year or will end/have ended in 2026…

The latest headline comes from Emily Cooper’s European oft-viral escapades, with Netflix confirming last week that Emily in Paris will officially end after its sixth season, which is currently in production (a release date has not yet been announced). “Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris,” creator Darren Star shared in a statement.

The Manuel Garcia Rulfo led The Lincoln Lawyer is currently in production for its fifth season, and Netflix confirmed earlier this month that it would be its last. The saga of Mickey Haller was originally scrapped by CBS in 2020 over a month into production before Netflix picked it up the year after and made it a success. A release date for season five is not yet available.

Despite being one of the streamers’ most popular new entrants for its entire run so far, The Night Agent, starring Gabriel Basso, will end with a fourth season, which began production at the start of May. The third season premiered just this February, and received general acclaim. The final season is expected to arrive in 2027.

After two seasons, it was essentially confirmed in March 2026 that With Love, Meghan, featuring a look inside the Duchess of Sussex’s home life, would end with the conclusion of Netflix’s partnership with Archewell. The show received mixed reviews and was dubbed “unrelatable” by viewers, but made the top 10 of the streamer with both seasons, with a holiday special released in December as well.

It was announced last year that Michelle Buteau’s Survival of the Thickest, based on her acclaimed memoir of personal essays, will end with its third season. The comedy-drama about a woman attempting to rebuild her life after a break-up has received generally positive reviews throughout its run, with season three set to premiere on July 2.

The Western drama The Abandons, starring dramatic heavyweights Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, was canceled by Netflix after just a single season. The show arrived in December 2025, making little buzz before being canceled one month later, especially after shake-ups like showrunner Kurt Sutter departing before production was even concluded.

Despite a host of big names attached, with host Anthony Anderson and judges Jelly Roll, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Chrissy Teigen, Netflix’s reboot of the Star Search franchise made little impact with its January 2026 premiere and use of the live fan vote concept, and earlier this month, it was confirmed it would likely not return.
© NetflixSelling the City
The Selling Sunset spin-off Selling the City, which took the real estate drama to New York City, premiered in January 2025 and has reportedly been axed after just a single season. Although there’s no confirmation on the news so far, some of the show’s stars confirmed to People they were still “grateful” for the experience in April 2026.

The Spanish comedy Alpha Males, created by siblings Alberto and Laura Caballero and premiering in 2022, was enough of a success for Netflix to greenlight four international spin-offs. However, in April 2026, it was confirmed that the show had been renewed for a sixth and final season, just days after the fifth’s premiere.

Netflix France’s Bandi, which centered around the large Lafleur family, shot entirely in the island nation of Martinique, had great promise upon release this April, amassing over 50 million views two weeks into its launch. However, the following month, Netflix France confirmed it would not be returning with a second season.

The Spanish hospital drama Breathless (or Respira), centering around the Joaquín Sorolla public hospital in Valencia, was a popular addition to the medical drama landscape when it was released in 2024. However, in November of 2025, a month after season two’s arrival, it was confirmed the show’s third season would be its last, although a release date has not yet been announced.
© NetflixPop the Balloon LIVE
The translation of the popular YouTube series Pop the Balloon or Find Love to a live version on Netflix, hosted by actress Yvonne Orji, was doomed from the start. After it premiered in April 2025, it failed to make as much of an impact as its YouTube counterpart, and was canceled in February 2026.
© NetflixMiss Governor
Tyler Perry’s Miss Governor, starring Terri J. Vaughn as the first Black lieutenant governor in Mississippi, tackled topics like systemic racism in a sitcom style with family humor. While it received its flowers upon release in August 2025, Terri confirmed in March 2026 that Netflix had pulled the plug on the show after just a single season.
© NetflixTerminator Zero
Set in the Terminator universe, the animated series Terminator Zero premiered in August 2024 to critical acclaim. However, due to lower viewership numbers, creator Mattson Tomlin confirmed in February 2026 that the show had been canned after its single season, despite planning for two more seasons originally.
© NetflixThe Vince Staples Show
The Vince Staples Show, co-created by and starring the titular comedian, was a critical darling during its two-season run, in which Vince plays a fictional version of himself. However, it never found a wide audience base, never landing in Netflix’s top 10, and after the second season premiered in November 2025, it was canceled the following January.
