“In the car, driving west.” That’s an ideal place to be at golden hour for Alessandro Sartori, so it was no surprise that Zegna’s artistic director steered the Italian fashion house’s summer 2027 runway presentation to a stunning backdrop in that direction by taking over the Malibu Pier on Friday evening. It was an event in more ways than one. Zegna typically saves its collection debut for Milan Fashion Week, and by moving it to the west, the show delivered an exclamation point for Los Angeles as the third high-profile runway presentation in the city after Hermès in Bel-Air last night and Dior at LACMA last month. Disney Plus have now confirmed the exciting news that an Oasis documentary will be heading our way this year – with it also set to feature the first joint interviews with Noel and Liam Gallagher in over 25 years. While the feature is yet to get an official title, the news will undoubtedly come as a very welcome surprise for fans after the pair reunited for their triumphant tour just last year. It’s such a major film event that it’s also been announced that the documentary will be debuting in select IMAX and cinemas worldwide for a limited time from 11 September, with the film then landing on Disney Plus later this year. High-profile academy merger plans for a pioneering three-school trust in London to join one of England’s biggest MATs have been given the official go-ahead. Schools Week revealed in November that Big Education Trust was set to consult on proposals to team up with Oasis Community Learning, which runs 55 schools across the country. This morning, the organisations announced they received the green light from the Department for Education for the merger to happen later this year. Boosting ‘offer to every child’ Oasis CEO John Barneby believes it will strengthen what his trust “can offer to every pupil, in every community” it serves. “Oasis has always been clear that education sits within a wider set of relationships — with families, communities and the bright futures young people go on to lead,” he said. “Big Education brings an exceptional, evidence-informed approach to that work, built over many years through their schools and programmes.” Big Education was launched in 2018 by current CEO Liz Robinson and Peter Hyman. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame officially unveiled its 2026 class on Monday night, with Phil Collins, Oasis, Billy Idol, Wu-Tang Clan, Luther Vandross, Sade, Joy Division/New Order and Iron Maiden all named as inductees. Ryan Seacrest and Lionel Richie revealed the inductees on the latest episode of American Idol for the show’s Rock Hall episode. Beyond the performer category, Queen Latifah, Graham Parsons, Celia Cruz Fela Kuti and MC Lyte will all be honored with the early influence award, while Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller and Rick Rubin will receive the musical excellence award. Artists reach Rock Hall eligibility when their debut recording turns 25 years old. Collins, Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan are all getting into the hall on their first nominations. A fraudster who sold fake Oasis concert tickets to pay off her debts has been given a community order and told to pay a £40 fine. Rosie Slater, 33, used her connections with “wealthy, rich and famous people” to con 11 people who lost an estimated £4,000 in total, Staffordshire Police said. Slater, who admitted 11 counts of fraud by false representation at a hearing in December, sat in front of the glass dock at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday. Prosecutor Kyle Padley said Slater, formerly of Betley in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, told her victims she had access to Oasis tickets, including the Wembley Stadium VIP box. One man, who purchased 15 tickets from her, set up two WhatsApp groups and invited friends he thought might be potential buyers, the court heard. In those groups, Slater offered a price of £130 per ticket, and some people sent her the money directly and booked non-refundable hotel rooms for the tour dates.
