An airstrike on a vehicle on a road linking the city of Nabatiyeh with the town of Marjayoun killed a brigadier general, a captain and another soldier, the army said, without immediately releasing their names. Another airstrike on the southern village of Saksakiyah killed six people and wounded four, state-run National News Agency said. “The continued, deliberate, and repeated Israeli aggression against Lebanon, its people and its army only strengthens our resolve, faith and determination,” the army said in its statement. The Metropolitan Police has investigated five Royalty and Specialist Protection officers following allegations of misogynistic behaviour. A female member of staff at Kensington Palace issued a complaint about a string of “inappropriate” comments between August 2023 and September 2024. An official complaint was filed in October 2024, the Sun reported. A Met spokesperson said in a statement: “The reported behaviour falls below the high standards expected of officers, particularly those in frontline protective roles. Five Chicago police officers were hit by a car early Sunday morning while on duty on the city’s west side, the department said. The officers were helping to disperse a large crowd at 3:20 a.m. when a blue vehicle traveling westbound in an eastbound lane hit them, the Chicago Police Department said. The car allegedly mounted a curb and then hit a police patrol car, a utility pole and a fence before coming to a stop. Police said they arrested an uninjured 18-year-old male; charges are pending. Police said they recovered a weapon from the vehicle. The department described its statement as preliminary and offered no additional details. An individual attacked three police officers with a knife as they were responding to a report, a French official said. An incident happened on Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 6pm local time, in Saint-Dizier (Haute-Marne), a commune in north-eastern France. Upon arriving at the scene, the three officers were attacked with a knife, he added.
