Singapore orders social media sites to block content, likely from China-based platform, targeting Indian community

MALICIOUS EFFORTS TO SOW DISCORD MHA said that it has observed deliberate attempts to spread more of such content in Singapore’s local information space. These are malicious efforts to sow discord by inciting ill will against the Indian community in the country, said the ministry. “This includes Indian migrant workers in sectors such as construction who are here to make an honest living,” it said. “They contribute to Singapore’s growth and development, and are valued members of our society.” The problematic content likely breaches Section 298A of the Penal Code for knowingly promoting feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different groups on grounds of race, or committing an act prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different racial groups in Singapore, said the ministry. The offence carries a punishment of up to three years’ jail and a fine. The Singapore government takes a serious view of threats to the country’s social cohesion and racial harmony, including from external actors, and will act resolutely against them, it added. Mr Tong said the government will continue …

As a result of the review, the Washington Post reported Thursday, the organization ordered the removal of three quotes at the site. The one that drew the initial complaint, referencing women’s suffrage, was not set for removal. While the panel quotes have not yet been removed, a spokesperson for the Interior Department characterized the removal order to the Post as a “routine exhibit refresh.” Related Articles “Through President Trump, we have encouraged Americans to visit our cultural and historic sites and engage in meaningful conversations about the moments that have shaped our country,” the spokesperson Katie Martin said in a statement. At Bunker HIll, historical displays are accompanied by panels with quotes that reflect on the monument and the Battle of Bunker Hill, the first major skirmish of the Revolutionary War. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled Friday that Trump’s handpicked board did not have the authority to rename the facility on its own. “The Kennedy Center’s organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so,” the judge wrote in his 94-page decision, issued on Kennedy’s birthday. “Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it.” Trump blasted the ruling in a lengthy post on Truth Social and suggested that for now he was washing his hands of the institution he named himself chair of last year. “I cannot be involved with a situation where danger to the Public is allowed to flourish …

Ferrari CEO says Luce EV is ‘clocking up orders’ despite design backlash

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna confirmed that the $640,000 Luce, the company’s first all-electric car, is already receiving orders from both existing and new customers. The order book extends toward the end of 2027, according to Bloomberg. To add to the strangeness, the chocolate had taken on an odd cream colour, scattered with brown spots throughout. Visibly baffled by the state of the snack, the traveller filmed the moment and quipped: “POV: you’re flying easyJet and this is what your chocolate buttons look like.” Upon noticing the peculiar-looking treat, the passenger approached a member of the cabin crew to enquire whether the sweets were actually supposed to appear that way. The footage captured the crew member offering an awkward smile while shaking their head “no”, seemingly just as mystified by the whole situation. Posting the clip online, the traveller laughed: “easyJet customer orders chocolate buttons on flight and is floored by what they get.” They went on to invite their followers to share their own “crazy budget airline stories” — and it wasn’t long before plenty of fellow passengers came forward with their own unfortunate tales. One passenger joked: “I ordered a …

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed on Monday that instructed the military to “press the pedal even harder” against Hezbollah, reportedly upon a greenlight being given by Washington, following increased drone attacks from the Shia paramilitary group backed by Iran on northern Israel. via AFP “We are at war with Hezbollah. Just in recent weeks, our brave fighters have eliminated more than 600 terrorists,” Netanyahu announced in video statement. “But we are not taking our foot off the gas. On the contrary, I have instructed them to press the pedal even harder.“ “We will strike them. Yes, they are attacking us with drones, cyber-enabled drones, and we have a special team working on this — and we will solve that too…But what this requires from us now is to intensify the blows, increase the force. We will strike them decisively,” the Israeli leader …
