Violent scenes of chair-tossing and drink-lobbing erupted in the German city of Leipzig on Tuesday night ahead of Wednesday’s Europa Conference League Final. A sudden confrontation between dozens of Crystal Palace fans and black-shirted Rayo Vallecano supporters was swiftly intercepted by riot police. Hooligans can be seen readying themselves for a united charge at their rivals before backtracking and instead opting to turn cafe furniture into missiles, soaring over the heads of police as an onlooking family appear to continue their birthday dinner. Footage posed on social media showed the fans violently clashing in the Irish bar just hours before the game between Crystal Palace and Rayo Vallecano, for which thousands of British and Spanish fans had arrived today.
