Two new Pokémon TCG cards revealed ahead of Chaos Rising launch

Two new Pokémon TCG cards revealed ahead of Chaos Rising launch

It’s exciting times for Pokémon TCG fans as the launch of the Chaos Rising set is imminent. And, to make the final days of waiting a little bit more bearable, we can exclusively reveal two cards from the new range. Generally speaking, this is shaping up to be a big year for Pokémon as a brand, with its 30th anniversary celebrations giving way to all sorts of exciting things — in terms of new video games, we’ve already had Pokopia, and Pokémon Winds and Waves is coming up. Let’s not forget the collabs with real-life brands, too. Pokémon has teamed up with the National Trust and Ikea, not to mention the Kellogg’s Pokémon cereal that we’ve all been eating every day without fail (right?). But, of course, for some fans, nothing means as much as the iconic Trading Card Game. And we’re very proud to be able to reveal not one, but two cards from the Chaos Rising collection. Here’s the first one to feast your eyes on. Ah, the humble Minccino. A basic Pokémon …

Pokémon Go players helped build new maps of cities

Pokémon Go players helped build new maps of cities

In your hometown, you can glance at a building or landmark to orient yourself. A new computer system uses artificial intelligence to do much the same thing. Called VPS 2.0, it’s a type of visual positioning system. It lets machines “look through a camera and know exactly where they are,” explains Brian McClendon. This system went global in April. And if you’ve played Pokémon Go, you might have helped make it possible. McClendon led the team that developed VPS 2.0 for Niantic Spatial, based in San Francisco, Calif. In some cities, delivery robots will use VPS 2.0 to bring pizza or groceries to someone’s door. “We’re really excited [for the new system],” says George O’Brien. He leads product development at Coco Robotics, also based in San Francisco. Robots delivering pizza sounds fun, says Kathleen Tuite, who does not work with either company. But she worries about our privacy. A system like this “could probably figure out where you are from certain kinds of photos,” she points out. Tuite is a software developer at ODK. This …

Best Pokémon TCG deal: Perfect Order Booster Bundle now under $50

TL;DR: Amazon has the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Perfect Order Booster Bundle listed for $49.99. That puts it just above TCGplayer’s current $41.49 market price. Walmart has it for $42.95. Credit: The Pokémon Company The Perfect Order expansion has been fluctuating in price since it launched, so we’ve been keeping close tabs on any sort of price drop. As of May 11, Amazon has the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Perfect Order Booster Bundle listed for $49.99. TCGplayer’s current market price sits at $41.49, so Amazon is only just over market while still giving shoppers the familiar checkout, delivery, and return setup. With over 20,000 sold in the past month alone, it’s safe to say plenty of fans are prioritizing that convenience. That said, this isn’t the cheapest listing right now. Walmart has the same Booster Bundle for $42.95, while TCGplayer has unopened listings starting at $40.48, plus $2.49 shipping. That brings the cheapest TCGplayer option to $42.97 delivered, which is basically tied with Walmart.  Mashable Trend Report On a per-pack basis, Amazon comes out to …
