The 2026 India-Africa Forum Summit, scheduled for May 28 to 31, was postponed due to the “evolving health situation in parts of Africa”, India’s Ministry of External Affairs announced Thursday as health officials in DR Congo tackled an Ebola virus outbreak.  The decision was made in recognition of “the importance of ensuring the full participation and engagement of African leaders and stakeholders, and mindful of the emerging public health situation on the continent”, said a joint statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the African Union. After discussing the “evolving health ‌situation”, India and the AU agreed that ​it would be “advisable” to hold the summit at a later date, the ministry said. It ​did not elaborate on the health concerns. The postponement came as a first Ebola case was confirmed in the DR Congo’s South Kivu province, in an area under the Rwanda-backed AFC/M23 militia’s control, the armed group’s spokesman said Thursday. A school which postponed a local MP’s visit due to planned pro-Palestine protests made the decision based on “safeguarding concerns” and there is no evidence of antisemitism, a review has found. Labour MP Damien Egan, who is Jewish, planned to visit Bristol Brunel Academy, part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), in his Bristol North East constituency in September. But the visit was postponed following opposition by local campaigners and school staff who are members of the National Education Union. The school said the visit was postponed due to safety concerns about a protest planned at the school site on the same day. Events prompted an unusual Ofsted ungraded inspection to investigate concerns of political bias. However, the inspection found “no evidence” to substantiate these concerns. CLF appointed Joan McVittie, former headteacher and past-president of ASCL school leaders’ union, to carry out an independent review. The global memory chip shortage may result in the next MacBook Pro and Mac Studio models launching later than expected, according to the latest rumor. Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has repeatedly stated that 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with a touch screen are slated to launch in late 2026 to early 2027. In his Power On newsletter today, though, he said to be prepared for the laptops to potentially arrive towards the end of that timeframe due to the chip shortage. In other words, early 2027 is now more likely than late 2026. Gurman previously expected a new Mac Studio to launch around the middle of 2026, which pointed towards an announcement around WWDC 2026 in June. However, in his newsletter today, he wrote that sources within Apple believe that the next Mac Studio models will not ship until around October this year as a result of the shortage. Jessica Chastain has shared a welcome update on her Apple TV thriller The Savant after it was postponed last year. The drama, which will follow an undercover investigator known as The Savant as she infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists, was due to begin last September, with the streamer confirming that the release had been pushed back. No new release date was confirmed at the time but now Chastain has confirmed, after some uncertainty, that the show will definitely still be coming to screens.
