The Princess of Wales looked radiant in a red and white midi dress following her last-minute decision to join her father-in-law, King Charles, at a reception at St James’s Palace on Tuesday evening. Just hours after Kensington Palace had announced her plans to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Cancer Research UK, Kate stepped into the Throne Room of the palace in a Rodarte dress that seemed to send a poignant message. Showing her love and support for others who had been diagnosed with cancer, she wore a silk twill dress covered in dainty white hearts and featuring a belted waist and a contrasting collar. A formidable character who became the matriarch of the Royal Family, Princess Victoria Mary of Teck was born at Kensington Palace on May 26, 1867 in the same room where Queen Victoria (who was a distant cousin) had been born 40 years prior. In 1891, Mary, then 24, was betrothed to her second cousin once removed, Prince Albert, eldest son of the then Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII). However, six weeks after the announcement of the engagement, Prince Albert died unexpectedly during an influenza pandemic. The following year, Mary became engaged to his only surviving brother, Prince George (future King George V), and married him in 1893. When he became Prince of Wales in 1901, she became Princess of Wales. In 1910, following the death of his father, King Edward VII, King George V acceded to the throne and Mary became Queen. Princess Diana looks unrecognisable in rare 1970s photos from her school days

Rare photographs of Princess Diana from her school days in the 1970s have been unearthed for an upcoming auction.  Four colour photographs from Diana’s childhood friend Katherine Hanbury depict her at West Heath Girls’ School in Kent between 1973 and 1977. A delightful new picture of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa has been shared to mark the couple’s third wedding anniversary. On Monday, the Royal Hashemite Court released an official new portrait of the Jordanian royal couple to mark the milestone.  Princess Rajwa, 32, looked stunning in a silky deep teal gown, with a wishbone ring on her finger and diamond earrings.  And Crown Prince Hussein was the epitome of a proud husband in his suit and tie, perfectly coordinating with his wife. Princess Charlene of Monaco has shared a rare photograph with her twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, to celebrate Mother’s Day in France.  Taking to Instagram, the royal, who is married to Prince Albert, had her arms around her children, making for a stunning family portrait.  Mother’s Day in France and Sweden is typically celebrated on the last Sunday of May. In France and Monaco, the day may be held on the first Sunday of June if the last Sunday of May falls on Pentecost. Princess Eugenie melted hearts on Saturday when she shared a selection of adorable photos of her youngest son, Ernie, as he marked his third birthday. In a selection of photos, the young royal could be seen playing with blue balloons and a blue football. Another photo saw him walking with his older brother, August, five, with Ernie’s sibling wearing a blue hoodie with the hood up. In all three of the photos, Ernie could be seen wearing his signature blue cap. However, the cutest photo was saved for last, and it featured the proud mum-of-two and her son sharing a kiss on the lips while standing underneath a tree covered with autumnal leaves.
