No Woman Should Ever Feel Expected To Do 11 Ridiculous Things For A Man

No Woman Should Ever Feel Expected To Do 11 Ridiculous Things For A Man

Great relationships are based on compromise. But too often, women are expected to compromise way more than men. This feels like Boomer stuff, but it happens in almost every generation, even today.  No woman should feel pressured to compromise things that make her happy, but when you fall for someone, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s normal. Before long, you’re in deep and wondering how you got there. To protect yourself, keep an eye out for these truly ridiculous requests from a man. No woman should ever feel expected to do 11 ridiculous things for a man 1. Give up on her dreams Leszek Glasner | Shutterstock Every healthy relationship has some element of give and take. In these partnerships, both halves of a couple should feel like they have the chance to set goals and achieve them.  Traditionally, a wife was expected to give up on personal or professional goals outside of caring for her home, kids and husband. While this tradition started changing in the 1980s, with more women pusuing careers even after …

Jost, 43, recalled the bizarre moment during Thursday’s segment of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “We were pitching ideas for one of the cold opens, like, two months ago,” he explained. “And I was like, ‘Would it be funny if Hegseth just did that Bible verse that they have in Pulp Fiction?’ Remember, they’re like, from Ezekiel…” Host Fallon chimed in, acknowledging: “Yeah, Samuel L. Jackson, 12:17.” “Yeah, we talked about it, and we were like, ‘That would be too ridiculous,’” Jost continued. “And it would take up all this time in the cold open. It would seem like we wouldn’t. “And then he …

Baffled Bristol neighbours mock ‘ridiculous’ fence across living room window | UK | News

Neighbours have been left bewildered after an enormous garden fence was erected directly across a living room window. Substantial wooden panels have entirely blocked the outlook from inside after being positioned just 14 inches from the property. The residence in Bristol is presently vacant but workers were spotted undertaking construction at the dwelling this week. It is believed the fencing was put in place to safeguard and divide the house from a parking space. However, one neighbour said: “When I initially saw the fence I thought just the same as everyone else who’s seen it really – I mean what were they thinking? “It totally blocks the living room window of any light and view. “Someone described it as daylight robbery, which did make me laugh!” The property with the substantial fence constructed outside its living room window is located in Lockleaze, Bristol. The neighbour added: “The house is currently empty. “A fence was then put up in front of the window as there’s a gap between the house and driveway that maybe a small …

House of the Spirits author feared certain scenes would look “ridiculous”

Prime Video’s latest literary adaptation of House of the Spirits brings author Isabel Allende’s sweeping, multi-generational family saga to the screen. First published in 1982, the celebrated novel is a cornerstone of magical realism, weaving the fantastical elements into everyday life – something which Allende admits she was initially concerned could look “ridiculous” on screen. “I told them, this is very difficult to do on a screen because it looks ridiculous,” the acclaimed author told Radio Times in a recent interview. “But they did it in a very subtle way… they totally integrated it in a natural way, which was very hard to do with a film.” Magical realism – a genre that blends the supernatural into the everyday – is central to the story, particularly through the character of Clara del Valle Trueba (played by both Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi). The clairvoyant matriarch predicts major events before they happen, levitates objects with her mind and communicates with the dead. The tooth fairy is ridiculous but kids need rituals. I know I do | Anthony N Castle

The tooth fairy is ridiculous but kids need rituals. I know I do | Anthony N Castle

I held my daughter up to better see the passing parade. She was still small enough to lift high with my hands and I watched her reaction from below, her joy, growing in the morning light. The colour and noise moved past. “You’re missing it,” I heard someone say. But I had never seen something as beautiful as that; it seemed perfect, her smile looking down at me. My daughter appeared above me again the following morning, though something had changed. Her mouth, blood-streaked, opened to reveal a gap. She had lost her first tooth. We celebrated but I felt something else as well; it all changes from here. I wondered if it was grief. “Do we give this to the toothy fairy?” my daughter asked. I couldn’t quite remember. There can be something ridiculous about the ritual; invoking night imps, exchanging cash for body parts. Some parents hoard the teeth in tins or wear them on necklaces. Some argue it’s unethical; “You’re lying to children” or, my personal favourite, “This is how capitalism commodifies …

Brentford pub slams ‘ridiculous’ fee to put advertising board in own beer garden

Brentford pub slams ‘ridiculous’ fee to put advertising board in own beer garden

A publican has hit back at Hounslow Council after being told he must pay a ‘ridiculous’ fee to put an advertising board in his own beer garden. Scott Illman, who runs the Magpie and Crown on Brentford High Street, will need to cough up £260 annually under current legislation – despite the pub sitting on land owned by developer Ballymore. The 51-year-old believes the request is unjust as his income has been significantly affected by the adjacent authority-backed Brentford Project. He told MyLondon: “I’ve had hoardings around me since 2020 and at no point did anyone say ‘You know what, here’s a discount on your business rates.’ “They’ve taken away rear access to the pub, and we still can’t use one of the paths leading to us because of works on the left-hand side. We were surrounded in shadow all the time and the beer garden was so noisy. I was fuming when I read the letter.” Artist’s impression of how regenerated Brentford High Street will look -Credit:Ballymore A notice issued by Hounslow Council on …

Trump Reveals How 'Operation Epic Fury' Got Its Name — And It's Pretty Ridiculous

Trump Reveals How 'Operation Epic Fury' Got Its Name — And It's Pretty Ridiculous

President Donald Trump speaks during a rally in Monroe, Louisiana in 2019. It shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that President Donald Trump’s taste in mission names is on par with his flair for decorating. At a rally Wednesday in Kentucky, the president bragged about how he chose “Operation Epic Fury” as the name for the US-Israeli attack on Iran during what he implied was a very boring meeting. “Operation Epic Fury!” Trump exclaimed at the rally, like he was announcing the next installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise. “Is that a great name? Well, it’s only good if you win, ya know?… And we’ve won. We won. … In the first hour it was over, but we won.” He continued, “They gave me a list of names to choose. ‘Sir, you could pick the name you’d like, sir.’ I said, ‘The name of what?’ ‘The name of the attack on Iran, sir,’” Trump told the crowd, making sure to use a cartoonishly stiff voice for whoever was asking him to make the …

The renowned Grammy-winning US artist, 53, said the notion that people are not attracted to “buxom, curvaceous” women was “bulls***”. “Walking with that level of confidence, taking up space and not apologising for it… they’re walking goddesses,” she said. Appearing on the The Independent’s Good Vibrations podcast in the first episode of 2026, Scott continued: “They made a whole era about these women, they’re in museums around the world. I love to see it… I love it when I see a confident woman in any shape or size. It’s like, yes queen.” In the same episode, the “Golden” singer spoke about why she took time away from releasing new music to raise her son as a single mother, …

Collins, 26, who opened for the 58-year-old country star on his 2025 High and Alive tour, shared a screenshot Sunday on her Instagram Story of a headline that read: “Keith Urban moved in with GF Karley Scott Collins? Fresh speculation amid divorce.” “Y’all this is absolutely RIDICULOUS and untrue,” she wrote, along with a laughing emoji. Speculations surrounding Urban’s dating life have swirled since Kidman filed for divorce in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
