Madonna Surprises Sabrina Carpenter Fans With Coachella Duets

Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna on stage at Coachella on Friday night Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Coa It may have been one of the worst-kept secrets in pop, but Madonna still definitely managed to make a big impression when she made an unannounced guest appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella set. On Friday night, Sabrina headlined the second week of the US music festival, whizzing through her biggest hits in an elaborate show that really pulled out all the stops. Towards the end of her set, the Grammy winner performed a rendition of fan-favourite track Juno, teasing fans with the line: “Wanna try out some freaky positions? Have you ever tried this one?” At that moment, the stage went dark, with Madonna entering the stage as her signature hit Vogue played, after which she and Sabrina gave their new duet – thought to be taken from the Hung Up singer’s upcoming album Confessions II – its debut. Madonna being Madonna, she wasn’t going to let the moment pass without some unscheduled chaos, launching into a slightly meandering …

Madonna Joins Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella For “Full Circle Moment”

Madonna Joins Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella For “Full Circle Moment”

The timing was auspicious, Madonna noted from the stage. “I have a few things I wanna get off my chest,” she began. “Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions on the Dance Floor Part One in America.” “And that was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket. So, it’s like a full circle moment, very meaningful for me.” Madonna and Drake, performing at Coachella in 2015 Christopher Polk/Getty Images Madonna’s 2006 show might have been her first time at Coachella, but it wasn’t her only Indio show. In 2015, she joined Drake as he closed out the festival’s first weekend, singing Bedtime Stories 1994 slow jam “Human Nature” before locking lips with the Degrassi star turned musician turned beef participant. Their clinch launched a million social media …

Madonna Joins Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella Week 2

Sabrina Carpenter brought out Madonna as a surprise guest during her Coachella weekend two headlining set Friday night, with the two pop superstars performing “Vogue,” “Like A Prayer” and a new track together. The Queen of Pop hit the stage while the Grammy winner was singing “Juno,” at the iconic moment where Carpenter sings her lyric, “Have you ever tried this one?” The track then cut to Madonna’s iconic “Vogue” medley, and the two sang the hit together. Madonna and Carpenter went on to seemingly perform a new song from the former artist’s upcoming Confessions II. After, the “Material Girl” singer thanked Carpenter for inviting her to perform alongside her. “Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show,” Madonna said. “No thanks needed, Madonna. You can have whatever you want,” the “Espresso” singer replied. Madonna shared that two decades ago, she performed at Coachella, noting that it was a “full circle moment” being back to take the stage with Carpenter. “I have a few things I wanna get off my chest. 20 …

Justin Bieber’s Low-Key Coachella Performance Fuels Sexism Debate

Justin Bieber’s Low-Key Coachella Performance Fuels Sexism Debate

While Justin Bieber could pull off a low-key headlining Coachella performance, could a female artist? That’s the latest debate making waves on social media. Following the “Daisies” singer’s Saturday night set, which was quite stripped back compared to Sabrina Carpenter’s full-on theatrical performance the night before, people have flooded social media with very candid and contrasting reactions to his concert. On one side, people are slamming Bieber’s performance, describing it as lazy and underwhelming, despite his reportedly high paycheck for the gig. They’re citing the singer’s minimal stage design and lack of backup dancers, as well as him sitting down for around 30 minutes in the middle of his set to play snippets of his older classics, such as “Baby” and “Never Say Never,” straight from YouTube on his laptop. Critics are also comparing it to Carpenter’s Friday night headlining show, which featured multiple over-the-top set designs, outfit changes, acting cameos from Sam Elliott, Susan Sarandon and Will Ferrell, backup dancers galore and even the singer ascending from a car with a water fountain at …

Justin Bieber Returns With Coachella Headlining Set

Justin Bieber Returns With Coachella Headlining Set

Justin Bieber played his biggest concert in years as he headlined Coachella on Saturday night, delivering an intimate concert that leaned heavy on his Swag era and had Bieber mining through old YouTube clips on his laptop to take fans back to the early days.  Bieber’s show was stripped back, particularly compared to Sabrina Carpenter’s grandiose headlining show from the day prior. The pop star was mainly on his own for most of the set as he crooned and paced around a halfpipe-looking structure that took up the bulk of the stage. There were no backup dancers, no intricate stage props, and no outfit or stage design changes. The only times anyone else took the stage was when a couple guitarists came out for a few tracks, and for a few special guests (Tems, Wizkid, Dijon and The Kid Laroi) to join. It appeared Bieber wanted to keep the focus squarely on him and his voice.  “Wow wow wow, to be up close and personal with you guys, this is special,” a hooded Bieber told …

Sabrina Carpenter Apologizes for Calling Chant Yodeling at Coachella

Sabrina Carpenter has issued an apology for mistaking Zaghrouta, a celebratory Arabic chant, for yodeling during her 2026 headlining Coachella set. “my apologies i didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly. my reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. could have handled it better! now i know what a Zaghrouta is!” Carpenter wrote on X Saturday. “I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.” In a viral clip from the “House Tour” singer’s performance at the music festival on Friday night, an audience member can be heard voicing a Zaghrouta chant. “I think I heard someone yodel. Is that what you’re doing? I don’t like it,” Carpenter said onstage while she sat behind a piano. The attendee responded by telling the Grammy winner, “It’s my culture.” Carpenter responded, “That’s your culture, is yodeling?” The audience member added, “It’s a call of celebration.” “Is this Burning Man? What’s going on? This is weird,” Carpenter replied. The interaction sparked backlash for Carpenter, who directly replied to an X post …

Sabrina Carpenter breaks silence after calling cultural fan chant ‘weird’

Sabrina Carpenter has apologized after she called a fan’s cultural chant “weird” and told the Coachella audience: “I don’t like it.” “My apologies I didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly,” Sabrina wrote via X on Saturday, April 11, as the backlash increased. “My reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended. I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.” © Los Angeles Times via Getty ImagSabrina Carpenter performs at the Coachella Stage Her message came in response to a tweet which read: “Sabrina saying that she doesn’t like a cultural arabic cheer… this is so insensitive and islamophobic. I am very disappointed in her.” Sabrina was headlining the 2026 Coachella Music & Arts Festival on April 10, 2026 when one fan let out what was a Zaghrouta chant. A high-pitched, loud, and wavering cheer, the Zaghrouta is commonly used by Arab-speaking women to express overwhelming joy and is often used at events such as weddings and parties, …

Sabrina Brings Out TK For Coachella Headlining Set

Sabrina Brings Out TK For Coachella Headlining Set

Sabrina Carpenter had a premonition the last time she played Coachella in 2024, singing to a buzzing crowd during her set at the time that she would “see you back here when I headline.” It was a less distant reality than even she may have anticipated. Almost exactly two years later, Carpenter served as the first night’s headliner for Coachella 2026 on Friday, delivering an intricate, vintage Hollywood-style set — complete with acting cameos from the likes of Sam Elliott, Susan Sarandon and Will Ferrell — that only further reflected her status as one of pop’s biggest performers. “If I said that and I didn’t headline, it’d be pretty fucking awkward,” Carpenter joked at one point during the night, referencing that 2024 callout. Starting at just past 9 p.m. Friday night, Carpenter opened her set with a long video intro featuring Elliott playing a menacing cop who pulled her over in a sort of classic film noir scenario. After emerging from her car in real life just off the stage, she took to a catwalk …
